The women's semi-final of  Madrid P1  across  Paula Josemaría / Bea González  et  Claudia Fernández / Martina Calvo  This match is shaping up to be one of the key encounters to watch this Saturday. On one side, a pair in great form since the start of the tournament. On the other, two young players who seem to have found the winning formula against them.  Fernández and Calvo have won both of their encounters since the beginning of their partnership. .

Josemaría/González impress in Madrid

Since their arrival at the Movistar Arena,  Paula Josemaria and Bea Gonzalez  They leave virtually nothing for their opponents. The fast conditions in Madrid perfectly suit their attacking game, with Bea González particularly comfortable when it comes to taking the net and finishing points.

Their quarter-final against  Marta Ortega / Sofia Araújo  confirmed it again.

Josemaría/González started at a pace impossible for their opponents to keep up with and inflicted a  6/0  in the first set. No let-up afterwards: they continued their momentum to finish  6/2  in the second set.

A victory  6 / 0 6 / 2  which confirms their very good level since the start of the week in Madrid.

Fernández / Calvo, the pair that causes them problems

But their next obstacle is far from trivial. Since  Claudia Fernandez and Martina Calvo  They decided to team up, they have already faced Josemaría / González twice.

Result: two matches, two wins for Fernández / Calvo.

A head-to-head that contrasts with the regularity shown by Josemaría / González on the rest of the circuit and which inevitably gives a special flavor to this new confrontation.

Fernández and Calvo also arrive with a lot of confidence. Having become one of the key pairs in this second half of the season, they continue to display impressive maturity despite their youth.

Fernández / Calvo strong against Alonso / Guinart

In the quarter-finals, however, they faced a real test against  Alejandra Alonso / Marina Guinart .

The first set was very close and went to a tie-break, which Fernández/Calvo won. Once they had secured the first set, they stepped up their game to take a clear control of the match.

Victoire  7 / 6 6 / 2 , without needing to go through a third round.

A third confrontation that counts

So that's it  Josemaría / González with another opportunity to open their account  facing a pair that has always caused them problems so far.

Despite their Madrid momentum, Paula and Bea arrive with a strong case. Their near-perfect quarter-final and the fast conditions of the Movistar Arena seem particularly well-suited to their strengths.

Corn (Mais)  Fernández / Calvo have already shown twice that they know how to bother them A third victory would definitively confirm their status as a true nemesis for the Josemaría/González pair.

Beyond simply securing a place in the final, this duel will also be important in the second half of the season, where several pairs are looking to close the gap.  Gemma Triay / Delfi Brea , still sitting at the top of the rankings.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
