Defending champions Argentina qualified by beating Portugal 2-0. The semi-finals for places from fifth to eighth also took place: United Arab Emirates beat the Chile 2-1 (wins of Jofre/Icardo et Jurado/Ayats) and will face the Brazil for fifth place, after the latter eliminated the France 2-1 thanks to the decisive point from Bergamini/Gomes salary.
