The International Federation of Padel has realised an audit on the state of padel in the world in 2023/2024. And the figures exceed all expectations, including a pharaonic figure of 30 million leisure players worldwide.

The FIP validates and signs this figure. A figure to correlate with the 12 million practitioners estimated by the World Padel Tour in 2014. , even if they were contested at the time.

In 10 years, the padel has therefore gained nearly 18 million practitioners of padel.

Another element to take into account is the number of licensees padel. In 2024, the FIP expects nearly 600 licensees, 000% of whom are players. Good news for this sport, even if some countries suffer at this level like France. The French Tennis Federation, perfectly aware of this deficiency, is currently deploying numerous actions to develop the padel female.

But be careful, here too, if the competitors are not so present in France, we can see that the reality is much more balanced in the clubs.

Furthermore, in France, there are 500 practitioners according to the FFT and the figures continue to increase with clubs opening every month.

To complete this figure of 30 million amateur players, the FIP also announces 19.800 clubs or sites which offer at least one track. padel for a total of 63.000 tracks spread over 130 countries. THE padel is undoubtedly internationalizing.

As in France, international competitions are booming with a total of 163 events. Unsurprisingly, it is the FIP Tour which includes Promotion, Rise, Star, Gold and Platinum which has the most tournaments: 71 men's and 37 women's events, for a total of 108 competitions.

The other element to take into account is the number of countries involved in these international events with a figure to remember: 30 nations where there are international competitions. padel.

Here too, we inevitably see it, there are fewer women's tournaments. Even if the FIP pushes organizers to hold women's tournaments, sometimes... the reality is not so simple. As we have observed, there are much fewer female competitors than male competitors. Conclusion: there cannot be as many men's tournaments where the competition is much higher than for the women. We also see organizers announcing women's events which ultimately sometimes do not take place.
