Du padel on the roofs of the Carrefour Auteuil supermarket in the 16th arrondissement of Paris opposite the National Tennis Training Center? A project that was not selected in 2019 by Paris, but which could well be put back on the table in 2020.

An idea that does not date from yesterday. In fact, in 2018 and again in 2019, the idea of seeing padel in the 16th arrondissement of Paris has been proposed several times including to the City of Paris. Via its Paris Participatory Budget system, “Victor” proposed this project of padel on a site “which is hardly used by the town hall of the 16th district”.

The project planned to release 700.000 € for 6 pitches of padel  covered above the Carrefour Porte d'Anteuil “with a reception area".

As explains Victoire, resident in Paris and at the origin of the submission of the project to the city of Paris:

"The space above the Carrefour which overlooks the ring road and the CNE is not used at all".

But now, this site is almost impossible to evolve. The project has not yet been retained. The town hall of Paris explains:

The project is located in the Bois de Boulogne which is a classified site: the Sites Commission, which depends on the State, has refused all projects, from previous editions of the participative budget, which were proposed to it on this site.

However, the town hall does not prohibit reviewing this project if it were to return to the table on the budgetparticipatif.paris.fr site. A project not selected by the mayor of Paris is not final. However, you have to wait 1 year to rework the project and adapt it based on information from the Marie de Paris. Not obvious anyway in view of the response provided by the City of Paris.

Note however that in the west of Paris, 2 large projects should emerge from the ground:
