We had already started to see this trend in 2025, but the 2026 calendar confirms this, with 2 indoor tournaments added and 1 outdoor tournament removed from the calendar.

 The players were heard. 

The indoor/outdoor question was a hot topic throughout the 2025 season. Many players expressed their preference, sometimes quite bluntly.  Agustín Tapia  had summed up the general feeling in one sentence:
« Indoors is where you see the real padel. ».

Changing conditions, wind, sun, unpredictable bounces… These are all factors regularly cited, especially during the most exposed outdoor tournaments. In 2026, the message seems to have been received.

 An outdoor area that is now very targeted 

In details,  a single P1  will be played outdoors: the  Riyadh P1 which will open the season.
To this are added  3 P2 outdoor  :

  •  Cancun P2 
  •  Newgiza P2 
  •  Valladolid P2 

For the rest, everything is moving indoors. This is a change from previous seasons, where outdoor events still played a significant role in certain parts of the calendar.

 The major labels remain separate 

Despite this clear direction, the  majors  will be exceptions.  Doha, Rome, Paris and Acapulco  stay  outdoors Not for sporting reasons, but for other reasons.  logistical and structural These events require heavy infrastructure, often installed in iconic locations that are difficult to cover.

One reality remains:  Major outdoor  will continue to exist, and with them, their set of constraints.
