Five new pairs were highly ranked among the top seeds before Finland Premier Padel P2. The table has narrowed and the quarter-finals will be played today from 10 a.m. It is therefore time to take a first look at the success of these new associations.
The Lebron/Di Nenno pair is still in the running. However, the two players do not display the greatest serenity. We saw it during the first match where Lebron showed a certain excitement when entering play. The pair even conceded a set against Campagnolo (24) / Leal (29), although much lower in the rankings. We will closely monitor the match against Libaak/Chozas, who could act as a scarecrow.
It is in fact this same pair Libaak (51) / Chozas (45) who released Garrido/Ruiz from the 1/8th finals, in two sets 7/6(2) 7/6(4). So we won't have the opportunity to see the old pair González/Ruiz compete in this tournament.
On the side of Gonzalez/Alonso, there have been no major problems yet. The first set of the second round was a little more contested, but the 6/1 inflicted during the following set put the church back in the middle of the village. It will be a question of being careful during the quarters however, since they will play against Quesada (65) / Jofre (73). The team may seem weaker on paper, but it seems in good shape since it eliminated Valdes (58) / Chamero (70) who themselves took out Tello / Bella in the first round.
Cardona/Navarro took out Perino/Lamperti unceremoniously. The latter therefore once again failed to live up to the hopes that could have been placed in them and Lamperti still cannot find the solution to enter the quarter-finals. Cardona/Navarro will play against the No. 8 seed in the quarter, namely Arroyo/Gutierrez.
Yanguas/Stupaczuk remains solid. The pair had some doubts at the end of the second set yesterday, but controlled the situation. Today they play against the No. 6 seed, Nieto/Sanz.
