Uncertainty hangs over A1's future Padel. After the last official statement, announcing that the circuit calendar is cancelled, doubts are growing around the future of the competition Fabrice Pastor.

A circuit on the edge of the precipice

Even before this announcement, several signs showed that the situation of A1 Padel became critical. First, the cancellation of the Master from San Juan in Argentina gave me a clue. Then, it was Aitor Lanz, former deputy director of the A1 presidency, who claimed that the circuit had fired employees and warned the players that they would not be paid for this year's tournaments.

A situation that leaves players in a state of great uncertainty. Some are already looking for alternatives to continue playing, including joining the circuit. Premier Padel or by registering for the tournaments of the Fabrice Pastor Cup, which is maintaining its schedule for the time being.

The first departures towards Premier Padel

Among the first to take the plunge, we find the Argentinian pair Maxi Sánchez Blasco and Fede Chiostri. After their final at the FIP Bronze of Mendoza, last week they decided to launch on the personalised tour Premier Padel. Maxi Sánchez Blasco announced it on his social networks, confirming their participation in the P2 of Asuncion.

With 401 points in the FIP ranking, both players will have to go through the qualifying phase in Paraguay. They will not be alone, since other pairs from A1 Padelas an Santiago Rolla / Facu Lopez or Teo Gamondi / Matías Ortiz, have also chosen this option. Some of them will even benefit from a wild card for the main table namely Mariano González and Martin Abud.

Insufficient FIP rankings for some players

If some A1 players Padel already have one FIP ranking allowing them to try their luck on the circuit Premier Padel, others are in a much more complicated situation.

The most worrying thing is the lack of points for the A1 stars Padel as Maxi Maple, Franco Da Bianco, Rama Pereyra, Adrián Allemandi et Martí Abud. Without points in the FIP ranking, their arrival on Premier Padel appears compromised.

An inevitable migration?

Faced with the uncertainty weighing on A1 Padel, many players are already looking to Us Premier Padel to secure their professional activity. With the end of the calendar and the lack of guaranteed salaries, it is difficult for them to remain loyal to a circuit that is losing momentum.

While some try their luck from the P2 of Asuncion, others are waiting for clearer announcements before committing to the circuit Premier Padel. But one thing is certain, if the situation does not unblock quickly, the circuit of Fabrice Pastor could lose its best players to the FIP.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
