An important chapter is closing for  Alix Collombon The Frenchwoman announced the end of her collaboration with  Juan Alday , his main coach since his arrival in Barcelona nine years ago.

Much more than just a coach, the Spaniard accompanied Collombon throughout almost her entire international career. It was with him that she developed her game, progressed season after season, and reached her peak on the professional circuit.

The man behind Collombon's rise

Juan Alday is one of the most renowned coaches in world padel. Throughout his career, he has notably worked with former world number ones such as  Fernando Belasteguin, Alejandra Salazar and Marta Marrero .

With Collombon, the collaboration went far beyond the sporting realm. The Lyon player recalls nine years filled with work, pressure, trust, learning, but also many shared moments.

"There are people who come into your life and change it forever. You are one of those people," she wrote on her social media.

The Frenchwoman also wanted to thank the man who believed in her from the moment she arrived in Spain and who taught her to enjoy the journey, beyond just the results.

A professional separation, not a personal one.

Although their paths diverge in their daily lives, their shared story is not entirely over.  Juan Alday remains the coach of the French national team. which means that he will continue to work with Collombon on international deadlines.

"You won't get rid of me that easily, because now you're my coach," the Frenchwoman joked in her message.

The relationship between the two will therefore remain intact, even if the professional functioning changes.

What new project is Alix Collombon planning?

It remains to be seen which project he will turn to.  Alix Collombon  for the rest of the season. After nine years with the same coach, this change inevitably marks a new beginning.

Choosing a new coach, joining a different structure, or adopting a different approach: the Frenchwoman has not yet provided any further details. This decision is undoubtedly significant for the future of her career.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
