November promises to be a historic month for the professional padel. From 3th and the 9th of November, Kuwait World Cup Pairs will mark the first edition of a World Pairs Championship, a new format imagined by the International Federation of Padel (FIP) to complete the season Premier Padel in a year without a World Cup by selection.
A new format that appeals to the entire circuit
Presented at the start of the season as a "experimentation", this tournament initially aroused curiosity and even skepticism among the players. But the result is clear: all the stars will be thereUnlike the classic World Cup, registrations were free, without nationality constraints. The usual pairs of the circuit will therefore defend their colors, with the ambition of winning a world title highly coveted.
The stakes on the men's side
In the men's category, the hierarchy remains intact after the wave of mid-season separations. Coello and Tapia arrive with the pressure of rank: if they were to fall prematurely, the race to world throne could be revived. Behind them, Galan and Chingotto intend to stay in contact before the final sprint to Barcelona.
The duets Lebron / Stupa et Nieto / Yanguas hope for them shake up logic and create a surprise in a tournament where every match promises to be explosive.
The Triay–Brea / Sánchez–Josemaría duel relaunched
The scenario is similar on the women's circuit. Gemma Triay and Delfi Brea are world number 1, but will have to confirm their status to Kuwait City to avoid a final twist. Facing them, Ari Sánchez and Paula Josemaría will try to restart the battle for the throne, in a season finale that's more open than it seems.
In ambush, Bea González and Claudia Fernández will seek to strike a blow and to conclude 2025 on a symbolic note.
New projects to follow
This World Cup in pairs will also serve as a laboratory for new associations in the intermediate zone of the circuit. We will see in particular Patty Llaguno with Martina Fassio, Lucia Sainz with Raquel Eugenio, or Marta Barrera with Jimena velasco. New duets who will take advantage of the opportunity to measure yourself against the best.
Rewards worthy of a Major
The tournament will not pretend: it will offer as many points as a Major (2,000 for the winners, 1,200 for the finalists). Côté premiums, men and women will finally be perfectly aligned :
- € 48 000 for each champion,
- € 24 000 for the finalists,
- € 13 325 for the semi-finalists.

A symbolic turning point for world padel
With its unique format, the Kuwait World Cup Pairs could become a new pillar of the international calendarIf the test is conclusive, the FIP may well have found a new tradition able to offer a different playing field to the best players on the planet.
I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
