After an excellent start to the season,  Ari Sánchez and Andrea Ustero  are marking time. Eliminated in the semi-finals of the  Newgiza P2  by  Paula Josemaria and Bea Gonzalez  ( 6 / 2 6 / 3 ), the Spanish women follow up with a  third consecutive tournament without reaching the final .

In challenging outdoor conditions in Egypt, the world number 3 pair failed to adapt as they had in Riyadh, where they had secured a victory. Quickly outplayed in the first set, they lacked aggression and consistency against an increasingly well-organized team.

On the bench, the tone had become heated.
“The semi-finals are not enough. We can't be satisfied with that, we have to aim higher.” , launched Ari Sánchez, lucid about the situation.
The staff made the same observation:  “I don’t feel that desire to win, that 'hungry' on the field.” .

Opposite,  González / Josemaría confirm their rise to power Still finding their feet at the start of the season, they now seem to be finding their rhythm and are even gaining the upper hand in their head-to-head matches ( 2-1 this season ).

Despite this latest disappointment, Sánchez and Ustero continue to accumulate playing time, a key element in improving their understanding and teamwork.

No time to doubt: they will have the opportunity to react as early as next week at  Brussels P2 .

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
