It's hard to imagine Arturo Coello anywhere but on a padel court these days. Yet, the world number one is already thinking about what he could do once his career is over.

And among the experiences that might interest him is a rather unexpected project:  to step into a boxing ring. 

Guest of Bandeja, the broadcast of Premier PadelCoello was questioned about comments he made in a video with his partner Maika, in which he mentioned the possibility of one day participating in  The Evening of the Year , the gigantic event organized by Ibai Llanos around fights between content creators and Internet personalities.

Impossible as long as he plays padel.

Coello's fans can rest assured: he obviously has no intention of preparing for a fight alongside the season. Premier Padel.

But what about after your career?

The answer changes completely.

"I'll fight anyone."

Coello does not rule out the idea at all.

"Who knows what the future holds?"

The Spaniard mainly explains that he cannot imagine ending his sporting career only to then remain inactive.

"Once my sporting career is over, I don't intend to just sit around doing nothing. I want to be doing things."

And if La Velada still exists at that time and an opportunity is offered to him, Coello is already volunteering.

"If La Velada continues and I have the opportunity, I'll fight anyone there."

A necessarily amusing statement coming from a player whose physical power is already one of the main weapons on a padel court.

Coello appreciates the world of creators.

This desire does not come solely from boxing.

Coello explains that he has long appreciated the world of content creators and the personalities present in this type of event.

He watches La Velada primarily as entertainment.

"I find it entertaining. It's a format I enjoy. I've always watched the people who participate on YouTube. They've entertained me since I was little."

He therefore clarifies that his initial statements about a possible participation had been made in a light and fun context.

But the door is definitely open.

Not necessarily an endless career

Another interesting element of his answer: Coello does not seem to have as an absolute objective to become one of the players with the greatest longevity on the circuit.

"My goal is not to be the player with the longest career on the circuit. Perhaps that idea will change with time."

This statement should be put into perspective with another dream mentioned during the same interview: that of continuing his association with Agustín Tapia for many years and, if the results allow, possibly ending their careers together.

The day Coello finally puts away his pala could therefore open a new chapter.

And clearly,  "King Arturo" is not afraid to temporarily swap his racket for gloves.
