They knocked off Lebron / Stupaczuk… and they weren't planning on stopping there. Pablo Cardona and Leo Augsburger continued their crazy week at the P2 in Asunción, winning 6/4 6/4 against José Diestro and Juanlu Esbrí. A solid victory, which allowed them to rally their first final on Premier Padel in just six tournaments together.
A quick comeback to win the first round
The match had started badly for Juani Mieres's charges. After an even start, it was Esbrí and Diestro, still as sharp as ever after their exploits against Tapia and Coello, who took the lead with a quick break to lead 4-1. But Cardona and Augsburger didn't panic. They simply played four games in a row, regaining control of the match. At 5/4, Pablo Cardona pulled out all the stops: impeccable defense, surgical attacks, the young Spaniard dominated the end of the set to conclude it 6/4.
Leo puts on a show, pair number 9 rolls out
In the second round, it is Leo Augsburg who donned the boss's suit. The Argentine prodigy, on fire, multiplied winning shots and forced his opponents into errors. A break in the fifth game, then perfect management of the lead until the end of the match: “Carburger” win again 6/4.

A duo that shakes up the established order
Since their association at the beginning of 2025, Cardona and Augsburger have already beaten the world's No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 pairs. In six tournaments, they had already reached the semi-finals in Riyadh. This time, they did even better by winning their first final together, against Chingotto and Galán. An explosive duel awaits them… which they have already won once this season in Riyadh.
Diestro and Esbrí, the end of an epic
For José Diestro and Juanlu Esbrí, it is the end of a magical journey. Arriving in Asunción without landmarks, they eliminated pairs 10, 7 and 1 to sign a best career result for Diestro and a smashing entrance for this new duo. If they had reached the final, they would have become the lowest ranked pair in history to achieve this (16)A narrowly missed feat... but a great message sent.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
