The French padel weekend was particularly intense with two major events on the schedule: the  P1500 MS Padel Vannes  in men and the  P1500 Ladies Alpine Store Rouen  among the ladies.

Two tournaments marked by fierce battles, plenty of suspense, and ultimately the crowning of  Damien Bayard / Pierre Vincent  et  Jennifer Denécheau / Marie Maligo .

Bayard and Vincent regain control in Vannes

Au  P1500 MS Padel Vannes The favorites delivered.

The seeded 1  Damien Bayard / Pierre Vincent  prevailed after a hard-fought final against  Simon Wagner / Tom Couturier  :  6/3 6/7 6/3 .

Very solid throughout the weekend, Bayard and Vincent had to fight to the very end against a Wagner / Couturier pair who were still heroic after a completely crazy tournament.

Before this final, Wagner and Couturier had notably:

  • saved three match points in the quarter-final against  Jules Marie / Julien Motz
  • then five more in the semi-final against  Alexis Coulombeau / Arthaud Dumoulin

But in the final, despite a tremendous mental strength and a second set comeback after being down 4-0 in the tie-break, it was not enough against a Bayard/Vincent pair who were very solid in the important moments.

The winners' journey remains impressive:

  • victory  6 / 1 6 / 2  quarter-finals
  • very successful  7 / 6 7 / 6  in the semi-finals against  Sanchez / Potel
  • then final victory against Wagner / Couturier

A title that allows Bayard and Vincent to resume their forward march on the P1500 circuit.

Denécheau and Maligo bring down TS1 in Rouen

Among the ladies, the  P1500 Alpine Store Rouen  will have offered a very close final between the top two seeds.

And finally  Jennifer Denécheau / Marie Maligo , seeded 2, who took the lead over  Clara Mansart / Marie Lefevre  :  7 / 5 7 / 6 .

A choppy final, marked by a lot of unforced errors on both sides, but where Denécheau and Maligo made the difference in the important moments.

After trailing 4-1 in the first set, they completely turned the situation around to finally take the lead before concluding the second set in a tie-break.

The statistics perfectly illustrate the balance of the match:

  •  36 unforced errors on each side
  •  29 winning points  for Denécheau / Maligo
  • salary.  28  for Mansart / Lefevre

The difference was mainly made by converting break points.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
