Last Saturday, the Campo Centrale of the Foro Italico was the scene of an extraordinary encounter.

After more than four hours of fighting,   Ari Sánchez /   Andrea Ustero   eventually overcame   Bea González /  Paula Josemaría   , thus bringing to an end an impressive series of  22 consecutive wins  and  five titles won in a row  by the pair coached by Claudio Gilardoni.

Beyond the result, it was above all the duration and intensity of the match that made a lasting impression.

 "I didn't see a long and boring match." 

In response to the comments generated by this marathon match, Bea González wanted to share her feelings.

"While I was on the court, I didn't just see a very long and boring match. I saw four professionals fighting for the same goal, battling for every point as if it were their last, and giving absolutely everything they had."

The Spaniard also emphasized the pride she felt despite the defeat:

“I felt proud. Proud of my partner, of our team, of our opponents, and of the level of competition we saw on the court. Proud of women’s padel and what it represents.”

 A debate that continues to unfold around women's padel 

This statement comes just days after the declarations of  Delfi Brea  Regarding the place of women in professional padel.

In a press conference in Rome, Argentina notably stated that the sport remained marked by certain inequalities, asserting that padel still contained "machista aspects and preferences for men".

Without directly addressing this issue, Bea González's message reflects a similar desire: to highlight the level, commitment and spectacle offered by the players on the circuit.
