After a start to the year marked by injuries and some adjustments, Bea González finds his smile and the top of the table. Just 23 years, the Malaguene has become the natural leader of a promising new duo, alongside Claudia Fernández, 19 years old. In Doha, their third consecutive semi-final confirms the ambitions of this fresh pair. In an interview with the Spanish media SPORTS, she looks back on her start to the season.
A confident recovery
Hampered by physical issues at the start of the season, Bea finally feels 100%, and it shows on the pitch. “We're very happy. Little by little, we're adapting to each other,” she explains, satisfied with this logical progression. Without setting any limits, she moves forward seriously: “We're taking it one match at a time, but we want to win everything.”
A new responsibility
First time in her career that she finds herself the oldest in her teamBea embraces this new role with great maturity. “Before, I always played with more experienced partners, but I like this new challenge.” However, she emphasizes the team spirit: “We are equals on the field. We both bring a lot to the table.”
Claudia's calm, a real plus
When asked about her young teammate, Bea is full of praise. “Claudia is very calm, very hardworking. She’s super organized, a real robot!” she smiles. This very methodical side fits perfectly complete the game more instinctively de González: “She helps me structure my game, it allows me to be more relaxed.”
