He will have passed one year and three months to participate in the structuring of French padel within the French Tennis Federation (FFT), Benjamin Tison, a former professional player and emblematic figure of French padel, has announced his departure from his position as head of high-level padel within the FFT. Between review, major achievements et prospect, he looks back on this experience and reveals his future projects, in particular a back on the French circuit.
A busy year within the Federation
Benjamin Tison will officially leave his post on 10th AprilHe looks back on his experience and the actions taken: “From the start, we implemented a sports policy with Alain Solves, under the leadership of the padel management. We have recruited four interregional referents to develop young people and structure the leagues. These referents have also become captains of the French youth teams. Alexia Dechaume has also accompanied me from the beginning, it was a real pleasure to work in these conditions.
He would like to thank Laura Clergue, Yannick Maurel, Christian Collange, Yann Auradou and Géraldine Sorel, who played a key role in this structuring. One of the major projects remains the creation of the National Training Center (CNE), scheduled for September 2025. “A lot of young people are interested, the selections are underway and it promises to be a great adventure.”
Early departure, but no regrets
Tison had called the job a "dream" when he was appointed. However, he left after one year and three months. "I don't regret anything, I'm not going back on the international circuit, unless there's a big surprise. But that's not my priority today."
His departure is linked to his feelings about his role: "I brought a vision, a policy, but my position took me away from the field. Today, I would see myself more as captain of a French team than as a sports manager." Concerning the Vichy Center, which will welcome young players, he said: "It's a great project, but it wasn't a priority for me to be present in Vichy regularly."

Return as a player to the French team
Benjamin Tison wouldn't say no to the French team for the next European Championships if the captain called on him:
“And then, I want to play as long as my schedule allows me. If I play well and I can To return to the French team as a player, I will never say no. I will resume the circuit with Max Forcin, participate in the P1000, P1500, P2000 and of course the FIP tournaments in France. Then, if the captain calls on me, I will answer present.”
A return to the French circuit with Max Forcin
Tison announces that he will return to competition in France, next to Maxime Forcin : "I will play the P1000, P1500 and P2000, depending on my availability." Players, especially Spanish ones, have asked him for associations, but he has already made his decision.
A future captain of the French team?
Asked about a possible nomination as captain of the French team, he replied: "Not immediately. I'm going to play again first, enjoy myself. Later, why not, if the FFT asks me."
Regrets ?
Although he mainly remembers the positive, he acknowledges the complexity of working in a large institution: “The FFT is a big machine, with many services and decisions to make. It is difficult to please everyone." He cites in particular the debates around the points scale and the place of foreigners as in interclubs.
Regarding his own career, he concedes: "During the World's Championships, I should have been stricter to avoid certain excesses."
The gap between male and female level
Tison acknowledges the gaps between the best French players and the rest of the women's circuit: "There are fewer women than men playing, but the trend is reversing with the increase in registrations for the National Youth Tournaments (TNJ)The new organization with Alexia and my successor will allow us to continue this work.”
Towards a return of Scatena to the French team?
Finally, Tison expresses himself with humor on Jérémy Scatena : "The group misses him a lot, that's for sure. But we also have to make way for a new generation." A duo Scatena-Tison could see the light of day on a few FIP in 2025.
Tison concludes: "I gave my all and learned a lot. I am leaving on good terms with the Federation and I am open to new opportunities."
