Le Italy Major Premier Padel took an unexpected turn in the round of 16 between the pair Di Nenno / Tello to the Andalusian duo Leal / Guerrero. In the middle of a meeting on track 7 of the Foro Italico, Martín Di Nenno was the victim of a ankle twist, forcing him to finish the match diminished.

A match already off to a bad start

Before the incident, Leal and Guerrero had gained a slight advantage, leading 7 / 6 4 / 2 against the Argentinians. The Ezeiza player's injury occurred during a tense phase of the match, further disrupting the dynamics. Shortly after the match, Di Nenno posted a photo of his ankle on social media, visibly swollen, accompanied by of a message to his partner :

“Get well and come back stronger, compañero.”

This blow comes at a pivotal moment in the season, when the Argentinian pair were hoping to regain consistency after an up-and-down start to the year.

The severity of the injury has not yet been officially announced, but further tests are expected. Di Nenno's presence for the next stages of the Premier Padel is now uncertain, and could force Tello to consider a temporary fallback solution in the event of prolonged unavailability.
