Le  Bordeaux Premier Padel P2  has left its mark on the world rankings. Between confirmations, big wins, and point losses, several movements are worth noting before an important stretch of the season, with four  P1  consecutive then the second  Major  of the year.

At men's,  Arturo Coello  et  Agustín Tapia  emerge even stronger from their week in Bordeaux. For the women, it's especially  Tamara Icardo  et  Claudia jensen  which have made a lasting impression, with a title that could count very heavily in the race for the top 4.

Tapia/Coello are pulling ahead again

With their title at  Bordeaux  ,  Tapia / Coello  further increase their lead over  Ale Galán / Fede Chingotto  in the world rankings. The Spanish-Argentine pair had started their season well in the Race, but since Rome, they remain on  four consecutive defeats in the final  against the world number 1s.

In the rankings, the gap is now very significant: more than  7 000 points  separate the two pairs. In the Annual Race, the difference remains less pronounced, under the  1 000 points , but the momentum is clearly on Tapia and Coello's side.

Behind, there have been few changes at the top of the table.  Javi leal  et  Eduardo Alonso  gain a place, just like  Lucas Campagnolo , now 19th. Conversely,  Juan Tello  drops two places and  Javi Garrido  loses one place.

Maxi Arce continues to climb, Cardona falls back again

Another player to watch:  Maxi Maple The Argentinian gains two more places and now sits at  24th world rank An interesting progression, even if he will now enter a period where he will have to defend the points acquired last season, when he was still playing on the A1 circuit. Padel before  Málaga P1 .

Further down the rankings,  Maxi Sánchez  achieves a great result with four places gained, to reach the  64th position .  Xisco Gil  mounts too, now  54e , as  Mario Ortega , 58rd.

However, the situation remains complicated for  paul cardona Still hampered by injuries and absent from the slopes, the Spaniard loses again  11 seats  and goes down to  72th world rank .

Di Nenno is back in the running for the Tour Finals

La  Race  saw more movement. The big winner on the men's side is named  Martín Di Nenno After a difficult start to the season, the Argentinian is enjoying his semi-final in Bordeaux with  Paquito Navarro  to return to the qualifying positions for the  Tour Finals .

Same dynamic for  Paquito , which also goes back up and finds the  top 10  of the Race. Their week in Bordeaux, marked by an important victory against  Lebrón / Augsburger , clearly relaunches their project.

Icardo/Jensen threaten the top 4

Among the women, the big winners are obviously  Tamara Icardo  et  Claudia jensen Their title in Bordeaux, after beating three of the four best pairs in the world, earned them  600 points  and brings them significantly closer to the world's fourth-ranked pair.

In the quarter-finals, they had indeed dominated that fourth pair,  Claudia Fernández / Bea Caldera In the Race, the gap is now just over  500 points The world rankings are still quite broad, but the coming weeks could change a lot.

Claudia Fernández will have to defend several major results from 2025, notably at  Malaga  et  Madrid , where she had won the title. A real opportunity, therefore, for  Icardo / Jensen , who can continue to get closer and aim for that strategic place in the top 4, the one that allows them to avoid the very best pairs from the quarter-finals onwards.

Triay / Brea keep the lead, but Josemaría / González remain close

Despite their defeat in the final,  Gemma Triay / Delfi Brea  They maintain their lead and even extend it slightly. Nothing decisive, but the world number ones remain firmly in place.

Behind,  Paula Josemaría / Bea González  They remain in contention, but their semi-final defeat in Bordeaux has hampered their attempt to close the gap. To truly catch up with Triay/Brea, they will need to avoid this kind of setback.

In the female race,  Laia Rodríguez / Noa Cánovas  are among those who have made significant progress since their quarter-final appearance in Bordeaux. Conversely,  Marta Ortega  et  Martina Calvo  drop two places after their elimination in the first round.

Bordeaux has therefore confirmed several trends:  Tapia / Coello  The bosses remain.  Galan / Chingotto  must find answers, and among the women,  Icardo / Jensen  clearly enter the discussion for the top 4.
