The countdown has begun.  four days before the start of the Betclic Bordeaux Premier Padel P2 The organizers are finalizing the last preparations in a Mériadeck ice rink which is getting ready to welcome once again the best male and female players in the padel world.

And among the good news of this 2026 edition, one in particular stands out: the  air conditioning of the premises  is now operational.

While temperatures are currently exceeding  42°C to 43°C in Bordeaux The tournament teams managed to lower the indoor temperature by approximately  15 degrés .

A significant improvement for the comfort of players, spectators and partners who will enjoy excellent conditions throughout the week.

"It is currently over 40 degrees outside and we have managed to significantly cool down the inside of the ice rink. During the tournament, the conditions will be ideal," the organization rejoices.

An installation ahead of schedule

With four days to go, the infrastructure is already taking shape.  fields 2 and 3 are installed  and the organization announces that it is ahead of schedule.

The goal now is to fine-tune the last details before the players arrive and the qualifying matches begin on Sunday.

The world's best players expected in Bordeaux

As in previous editions, the field promises to be particularly strong with the presence of the world's elite.

The defending champions will notably return to Gironde to try and retain their crown in a competition that has quickly established itself as one of the major events on the circuit. Premier Padel.

Attention will also be focused on the French, who will have the opportunity to shine in front of their home crowd.

Several French players will be present from the start of the competition.

The wild cards awarded will notably allow us to find  Lucas Pillon and Thomas Vanbauce , While  Johan Bergeron and Bastien Blanqué  will be included in the final table.

 Dylan Guichard  will also be there alongside the Belgian  Clement Geens .

In the women's competition, the Bordeaux public will be able to cheer on  Alix Collombon  et  Léa Godallier , two of the main French representatives on the international circuit.

Le Head One Point Challenge, the new feature of this edition

Among the most anticipated events is the  Head One Point Challenge , of which HEAD is the title partner.

The principle is simple: each participant plays matches with a single decisive point.

Accessible to all for  50 Euros The event also includes a place for the Bordeaux P2 final.

The semi-finals and final of the challenge will be played as a curtain-raiser to the women's final, in front of nearly  4 000 spectators .

The prize for the winner is:  a week in Mauritius at a Beachcomber hotel with return flights included .

An RMC podcast live from the tournament

Another new feature announced: the creation of a real studio in the heart of the ice rink.

The RMC podcast dedicated to padel will be recorded daily from the tournament grounds in order to bring the event as close as possible to the players and behind the scenes.

Live qualifying on Padel MagTV

As in previous editions,  Padel MagTV  in collaboration with  Canal +  will ensure the broadcast of the Bordeaux P2 qualifiers starting Sunday.

An additional opportunity for enthusiasts to closely follow the performances of the French players and the many pairs involved in the race for the main draw.

With four days to go before the launch, everything seems to be in place for the 2026 edition, which is shaping up to be another highlight of the padel season in France. Tickets are still available throughout the week to attend the event.
