Arturo Coello et Agustín Tapia continue to demonstrate why they are the undisputed kings of world padel. This Sunday at the Brussels Maritime Station, the world number 1s won against Alejandro Galán et Federico Chingotto (n°2) on the score of 2/6 6/4 6/1, offering their 21th title on the circuit Premier Padel.
A flying start for Chingotto and Galán
The start of the match is totally to the advantage of “Chingalan”. Solid at the net, surgical on their climbs, Gallant and especially Chingotto, imperial in its parallel vibras, literally suffocates Tapia and Coello.
Wall, feverish on smashes and volleys, is under pressure, while Coello is rarely called upon. Carried by a sparkling Chingotto, the reigning champions from Brussels logically win the first set 6/2.
Coello and Tapia raise their voices
In the second set, Coello decided to take more control, and that changed everything. More incisive, the world number ones easily held their serve and pushed their opponents on their service games.
À 3/3, Coello and Tapia obtain no less than 7 break points, and end up making the seventh to take the advantage.
Even though Galán and Chingotto managed to break back immediately, Tapia, now much more precise, rekindled his team's momentum. Taking the opportunity, they broke again and won the second set. 6/4.
With this equaliser, Coello and Tapia once again demonstrated their incredible ability to turn things around, a trademark since their partnership.
A demonstration in the third set
Carried by a rediscovered Tapia, Coello and his partner roll into the final round. 1/1, Tapia delights with an exceptional exit from the track which allows them to break.
They quickly chain a new break to 3/1 to definitively close the match. Behind, their solidity is impressive, and they win 6/1 to win their 3rd title of the season after Riyadh and Doha.

The curse continues for Chingotto and Galán
To Chingotto et Gallant, this defeat extends a black series: they have just conceded a ninth consecutive defeat against Tapia and Coello, all in the final.
The confrontations are now 11 to 5 in favor of Tapia and Coello.
Between Wall et Gallant, the history of their individual confrontations remains perfectly balanced: 25 wins each in 50 games.
Just a year ago, Chingotto and Galán had won their very first title together here against Coello/Tapia in what remains the longest men's final in the history of the Premier Padel (2h26 of match). This time, the dynamic was completely different.
The keys to victory
Once again, Tapia and Coello have proven that they are a perfectly oiled machine:
- Ongoing mutual support : no complaints, lots of communication.
- Tactical adaptation : when Tapia was in difficulty, Coello took over, and vice versa.
- Key moment management : always present when opportunities needed to be converted.
They thus confirm their current hegemony on the circuit and leave Brussels having consolidated their position as global 1 number, while defending the 300 FIP points obtained the previous year as finalists.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
