Opposed to the number 1 seed in the qualifiers,  Marina lobo  (n ° 46) and  Sofia Saiz  (n ° 42),  Léa Godallier  (n°58) and his Spanish partner  Sandra Bellver  (n°56) failed to qualify for the final table this Tuesday at  Brussels P2 The Franco-Spanish pair lost in two sets, 7/5 6/4 in the last round of qualifying.

A close but insufficient first set

The match had started off intensely. Trailing from the start after a quick break, Godallier and Bellver were able to react by coming back to level after a  opportune break at 3-4 . But they give up their serve a second time at 5/5, allowing Lobo and Saiz to take the set.  7/5 .

Lobo and Saiz impose their rhythm

In the second set, the Spanish took the lead with a break, but Godallier and Bellver were unable to recover and conceded the set 6/4.

An encouraging dynamic despite everything

Despite this elimination,  Léa Godallier and Sandra Bellver , played a good match against the number 1 seed in the qualifiers, they can have regrets, especially in the first set where they managed to break back, they also confirmed a certain consistency in their performances. Last week, they had reached the  second round of the Qatar Major , proof that they are gaining strength as the tournaments progress. If the step was too high this time against a higher-ranked pair, the signals remain positive for the rest of the season.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
