It is a confrontation as rare as it is symbolic which is being prepared for  Premier Padel Malaga P1 .  Carolina Navarro (49 years old)  and the Portuguese  Ana Catarina   Nogueira (46 years old) , two pioneers of women's padel, face each other this Thursday in the round of 16, with a common objective:  become the oldest player to reach a quarter-final on the tour Premier Padel .

If this record may seem anecdotal in a sport,  Carolina Navarro , world padel legend and former number 1, plays at home  his last professional season . And for what could be her last appearance on home soil, she has already delivered a big  first round fight , next to  Melani Merino , facing the Franco-Spanish pair  Araceli Martínez / Alix Collombon . After more than  2h30 game , the Spanish-Swedish pair won 6/4 1/6 6/3 in the  Martin Carpena Palace , transformed into a cauldron by the Malaga public.

On the other side of the net,  Cata Nogueira , associated with  Martina Fassio , also continues to defy time with a padel that remains as solid and inspired as ever. At 46 years old, the Portuguese embodies, like Navarro, longevity towards a sport that they have helped to grow.

Ce  eighth final between two veterans  therefore promises to be a special moment in this Malaga P1.
