The round of 16 match between Ale Galán / Fede Chingotto and Tino Libaak / Álex Chozas was not played solely on the court. Behind the glass, the exchanges between players and coaches also revealed the tactical adjustments that allowed the favorites to turn around a match that had started poorly.
Trailing after losing the first set, Galan and Chingotto have finally found the solutions to prevail 2/6 7/5 6/4 and reach the quarter-finals of the Premier Padel P1 of Valence .
Chozas' bench is pushing for Galán to be targeted
During a change of ends in the second set, the coach of Alex Chozas Juanma Rodríguez sends him a very clear message:
"Alex, have confidence in your shot. You need to find Galán and prevent Chingotto from organizing the defense."
The objective is clear: to prevent that Fede Chingotto , renowned for his exceptional field coverage, does not take control of defensive exchanges and forces Galán to play more under pressure.
Chingotto unveils his own plan
Opposite, the microphones also capture the intentions of Fede Chingotto during the third set. The Argentinian explains his strategy with great clarity:
"I'm going to go all out. If they get past me, I'll sort it out. If I play the lob over Chozas well, it's in the bag."
A statement that reflects his desire to be aggressive and take the initiative, while using the lob towards Chozas as a tactical weapon to regain control of the point.
A battle that is as much mental as tactical
These sequences perfectly illustrate the level of detail that characterizes the biggest matches on the circuit. Every change of ends becomes a key moment where strategic adjustments can turn the tide of a game.
After suffering against a pair Libaak / Chozas very inspired for more than one set, Chingotto and Galán finally managed to implement their game plan with more consistency to secure their qualification and continue their journey in Valencia.
