Au Tennis Padel Couëronnais Club, padel tracks were delivered in September 2023. Result : the club counts 700 licenseesincluding 450 people play padel, for a city of 25 000 people located atwest of Nantes. Meeting with Aurélien Gergaud, president of the club, and Marie Lefevre, padel coach.

With thepadel school à UrbanPadel Carquefou, tennis Padel Club Couëronnais also offers a padel school.

Note that these are the only two sites of the Nantes region to propose a padel school for the time being.

75% of the players are from Couëron

Every day, the three padel courts are available from 8h30 to 23h.
“During the day it’s obviously quieter, but from 17h, all three tracks are taken. In addition, we see that players come to play between 12h and 14h. And even the schedule of 21h30 is in high demand,” assures Marie Lefevre.

Personalized approved tournaments are organized, as during the weekend of March 22 with an P500 women, or Americans :
“Everyone plays together, we change partners, the games can be mixed. This allows to loyalty and create links. Now they have their groups WhatsApp and can play together again whenever they want,” she adds.

Marie Lefèvre, 12th French padel player

Before becoming tennis and padel coach in Couëron, Marie Lefevre gave tennis lessons north of Nantes, in Orvault Cholière Tennis Club.
"I was classified -2/6 tennis, but I don't play anymore. I give tennis and padel lessons and I am focused on the padel tournaments. " Because Marie Lefevre is actually 12th French to padel.

She discovered the paddle a little by chance during the National Padel Cup au Cap d'Agde, on the side of the Mediterranean Sea :
“The atmosphere was different from tennis, it was more user-friendly. And I remember, I had played the competition without having tried before. » Since then, Marie Lefevre never gave up padel.

The padel tournaments are organized during a weekend, unlike tennis, which makes it much easier to travel constraints and by way of family life. :
“In tennis, tournaments start on Monday and end on Sunday. Players can't get away every night to play. I understand why the padel attracts so many people »

Especially since at Tennis Padel Couëronnais Club, parent-child initiations are proposed, as is the arrival of scholars in order to introduce this sport to younger people.
