CR7, a big fan of padel and regular practitioner, continues to demonstrate his interest in this sport by investing 5 million euros in a new complex in Portugal which will open next year.
Cristiano Ronaldo and padel
Ronaldo, an emblematic figure of the sport and one of the most influential personalities in the world, continues to contribute to the popularization of padel.
Recently spotted at the first tournament of the season Premier Padel à Riyadh, he was present to support the Portuguese pair of brothers DEUS and also attended the final alongside his sons. His involvement makes him a major player in the development of padel on a global scale.
Recently he launched a channel YouTube on which he broadcast the semi-finals and the final of the P1 Riyadh. A golden opportunity for the visibility of padel, knowing that its channel counts 73,9 millions of subscribers. He also shot a video a few months ago, with the world number 1, Arturo Coello, which generated 2,1 million views.
In the past, the Portuguese had already invested in padel with the Lisbon Racket Center, a prestigious club of Lisbon.
A modern padel complex
Both a footballer and an entrepreneur, Ronaldo is betting on an ambitious project: an ultramodern padel complex, the “City of Padel" (Padel City), which is scheduled to open in 2026.
This complex, which will extend over 17 000 square meters, will understand 17 padel courtsincluding 11 seats, as well as a central court that can accommodate 2 000 spectators. This project, with an estimated cost of 5 million, will see the light of day at Oeiras, a municipality located west of Lisbon. Thanks to its state-of-the-art facilities, it could host tournaments in the future. Premier Padel.
The construction will be carried out by one of the world star's companies, CR7 SAIn collaboration with Lusofinance, a local company. The project also benefits from the support of the Portuguese Padel Federation.
A big sports enthusiast and former tennis player, I discovered padel a few years ago without really focusing on it. Then I became addicted to this sport by practicing it and watching the premier padel matches. Looking forward to sharing the 2025 news with you!
