Technical Director of the Aurial Padel Academy and influential coach on the circuit, Pablo Crosetti gave a detailed interview to sports world, regarding the new project Tino Libaak / Álex Chozas, whom he will accompany this season. A pair who were world champions with Argentina in 2024 and on whom he places great expectations.
The year 2025 hampered by injury
For Crosetti, the trajectory of Tino Libaak was clearly disrupted by her lower back problems last year.
"2025 was supposed to be his year of consolidating his position among the top pairs, but injury cut him short. He played several tournaments in pain and wasn't at 100%."
A setback in his sporting career, but an important step in his personal development.
"He learned to manage his time, to live alone, to face injury like a professional athlete. For life, that's very positive."
Untapped potential
The Argentinian coach is convinced that Libaak's level has never been in question.
"This year, we'll see Tino where he belongs, in the ranking he deserves."
He recalls his role during the 2024 World Cup, where he had led Argentina to the final alongside Leo Augsburgproof of his ability to perform at the highest level.
"If we look at the potential Tino showed at the World Cup, where he played with Leo (Augsburger) and carried the weight of the final, all he needs now is someone to partner him at number 1."
Chozas's key role
According to Crosetti, Alex Chozas is the ideal partner to help Libaak reach the next level.
"Alex is a player who bites. He'll bring that competitive edge, the desire to beat the top pairs without any respect."
He sums up the situation with a clear image
"All the ingredients are there, all that's missing is the cooking."
Managing pressure and gaining consistency
The other area for improvement concerns consistency.
"He can beat pairs 1 to 4, but he also has to win matches against pairs 20 or 25 on a normal day."
Crosetti emphasizes emotional management: Libaak is not putting pressure on himself for the World Cup, he remains focused on the daily work.
An ambitious project
With their physical condition restored and a complementary partner, the objective is clear: to establish the pair permanently among the best on the circuit.
For Crosetti, the potential is there. Now he just needs to translate it into a full season.
I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
