Long considered one of the most consistent players on the circuit,  Martín Di Nenno  has gone through a more difficult period in recent months. Results are down with  Momo González Premature eliminations and an avalanche of criticism accompanied this slump for the Argentinian player.

Present at  P1   of Valencia The native of Ezeiza wanted to set the record straight during an interview given to Joaquín Serna.

 "Four difficult months and I was called a washed-up player." 

Visibly affected by some of the analyses heard in recent months, Di Nenno admitted to having experienced this difficult period with frustration.

"People started saying I was a player who was regressing, that at 29 I was already finished, that I was a dog. Yet, it was only four bad months."

The Argentinian points out that his level of play did not disappear overnight.

“Last year, I finished third in the Master Final, I played in many semi-finals and won a tournament. I was written off for no good reason. It hurt my pride, and Martín will always be there to fight.”

Strong words from a player who has already demonstrated his ability to bounce back on several occasions.

 A champion used to getting back up 

This reaction makes even more sense in light of Di Nenno's career path.

In 2016, the Argentinian survived a serious car accident that claimed the lives of two of his friends and nearly ended his career. Against all odds, he managed to return to the highest level and become one of the best players in the world.

This trajectory probably explains why the 29-year-old player refuses to give in to pessimism today after a few more complicated months.

Since the Italy Major Di Nenno found  Paquito Navarro , with whom he had already shared the track in 2021.

The pair achieved an encouraging first result in Rome with a place in the quarter-finals before making a positive start to their campaign at  P1   of Valencia , dominating  José Luis González  et  Alvaro Melendez  when they entered the fray.

A new project that could allow the Argentinian to quickly return to the top. And judging by his statements, he's far from finished.
