Today, a new Argentine pair captures attention: Libaak et Tello. Like the world number 1s, they too, each in their own way, had the opportunity to share the court with the padel icon, Fernando Belasteguín, before forming their alliance.

The Libaak and Tello association

The announcement was made in last december : Juan Tello, currently world number 20, joins forces with the young and talented Tino Libaak, ranked 36th in the world, for this new season of the circuit Premier Padel 2025 Tello is coming off a rather mixed 2024 in sporting terms, his best result being a semi-final at the Premier Padel P2 of Bordeaux. He is now banking on this new collaboration with Valentino Libaak, the very promising Argentine player who stood out at the last World Championship, where he was elected MVP of the finals thanks to a remarkable performance against the Spanish team.

The Belasteguín imprint

Valentino Libaak is the last player to share the track with the legend Belasteguín before the latter officially retired. Earlier in the year, “Bela” had formed a pair with Juan Tello, the new partner of Libaak.

Interestingly, the last pair to evolve together after being paired with Belasteguín is none other than the current world number 1, Arthur Coello et Augustine Wall. Before joining forces in 2023, these two players had already had the opportunity to play alongside the legend. In 2019, “Bela” had taken on the role of mentor to Wall, then 20 years old, and together they won three tournaments. In 2022, Belasteguín chooses to partner with Arturo Coello, 19-year-old junior world champion, with whom he also won three titles on the circuit Premier Padel. After this period, Coello et Wall unite and experience a meteoric rise, concluding the 2023 and 2024 seasons as world number 1s.

Towards a trajectory similar to that of the world number 1s?

The pair Tello et Libaak shares a common point with the world number 1s: both had the opportunity to play alongside the padel legend, Belasteguin.

Looking at the meteoric rise of current number 1s, Coello et Wall, after their time alongside Belasteguín, we can imagine a promising future for this pair which combines youth and talent Libaak with the experience of Tello.

Do they really have the qualities necessary to follow in the footsteps of Wall et Coello and establish itself as the new reference on the circuit?
