After his career on the ATP circuit,  Dominic Thiem  He's not leaving the sport altogether. The former winner of the U.S. Open 2020  now turns to the  paddle , with a project structured around the development of sport in  Austria  and in Europe.

 A discovery during Covid

As many,  Thiem  discovered padel during the period of  Covid Hours spent on the field with loved ones, and a quick realization: a sport  easy to reach which creates a bond.

One aspect that struck him and is now at the heart of his project. For him, sport is not limited to performance. He also talks about  health needs ,  partage  and accessibility.

Smash Padel Club, a structured project

It is with this in mind that he committed himself to  Smash Padel Club , a structure that aims to develop the practice with a broad approach.

The idea is not limited to building plots of land. The project aims to create real living spaces around the  paddle , Along with:

  • play areas
  • of the  gastronomy
  • des   current events
  • a dimension  communal

The first club will open the  May 20th in Bruck an der Leitha , in Austria.

 An ambitious plan in Europe

The project has clear ambitions:

  •  40 ski slopes in Austria by the end of 2026
  • over  200 tracks in Europe by 2027

A rapid expansion that is part of the current growth of  paddle , now considered one of the most dynamic sports in Europe.

 A new ambassador for padel

With this investment,  Dominic Thiem  also becomes a new important player in the development of padel.

His profile, image and credibility in sports bring visibility to a project that focuses on the long term.

A logical step for the Austrian, who is transforming a discovery made during Covid into  a truly structured project with a simple idea: to make padel even more accessible and integrated into everyday life.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
