The world of women's padel is witnessing the separation of a particularly promising pair: Andrea Ustero (17 years) and Alejandra Alonso (18 years old) have announced the end of their shared adventure. A separation that is not linked to a lack of results, quite the contrary: the two young Spanish women had managed to rise to the 6th place in the 2025 Race, with very good performances this season.
A young and solid project
Since their association in May 2023, the “Turquis” have made a strong impression, aligning high-level results, in 2025 it is:
- Semifinals in Gijón and Santiago
- Victoire at FIP Platinum Puebla (Mexico)
- Quarter-finals in Cancun and Miami
- eighth in Riyadh, Qatar and Brussels
Despite their young age, Andrea and Alejandra have quickly established themselves among the elite of world padel, embodying the new Spanish generation that is shaking up the rules.
A separation dictated by opportunity
If they chose to end their project, it was not out of sporting disappointment, but because new opportunities presented themselves. Andrea Ustero will normally join forces with Sofia Araújo, former teammate of Marta Ortega, in order to form a new pair number 4 of the circuit Premier PadelA partnership that will allow him to enter directly into the round of 16 of major tournaments.
As for Alejandra Alonso, she could soon join Marta Ortega. Logical given the context: Ortega, without a partner following the separation from Araújo, would seek to maintain a high ranking. By joining forces with Alonso, she would form the number 5 pair.
A separation in respect and friendship
In moving messages posted on their social media, Ustero and Alonso recalled that their bond extended far beyond sport. “I'm parting ways with a sister in life,” wrote Andrea. “You know you'll always have a shoulder to lean on,” replied Alejandra.
A beautiful declaration of friendship to close a cycle marked by complicity, freshness and ambition.
A bright future
Far from being a sad goodbye, this separation opens the door to two ambitious new projectsWith new, experienced partners, Ustero and Alonso will have the opportunity to go even higher and confirm all the potential they have already demonstrated.
Le P2 of Asuncion, scheduled for May 18-25, should mark the beginning of these new associations, as registrations for this tournament close this Friday.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
