The European Junior Championships of Padel have chosen the top four teams that will compete in the finals on Friday and Saturday in Budapest, Hungary. On the boys' side, France triumphed in the quarter-finals by beating Italy 3-0, securing a place in the semi-finals.

The Blues started strong with Sacha Huard de la Marre and Nathan Perrot who won in three sets in the under-14 category. Then, Olivier Guy de Chamisso and Jérémy Robert won their match in two sets in the under-16 category, as did Timéo Fonteny and Yoan Boronad in the under-18 category. With this convincing victory, France are preparing to face Sweden in the semi-final, after the latter dominated the Netherlands 3-0.

Spain also shone, conceding only four games against Estonia to qualify for the semi-finals. The Spanish will meet Belgium, who narrowly won 2-1 against Portugal. The Belgians first took the lead thanks to their U14 players, Tibo Vandenabeele and Rune Keppens, before Portugal equalised in the U16 match. Belgium finally sealed their qualification with the victory of Huysveld Isaac and Thibo Matthyssens in the U18s.

Boys semi-finals:

  • Spain - Belgium
  • Sweden – France

In the women's draw, Sweden, one of the favourites, was eliminated by Portugal 2-1. The decisive victory came in the U18 match with Constança Gorito and Maria Clara Santos, after a first Portuguese victory in the U14 and a Swedish equaliser in the U16. Portugal will face Italy in the semi-finals, who beat the Netherlands.

For their part, the reigning champions Spain easily beat Belgium 3-0 and will meet France in the semi-finals. The French also won a clear 3-0 victory against Estonia.
