 Bahurel / Varo  et  Godallier / Valenzuela  managed to reach the quarter-finals of the  FIP Bronze from Barcelona confirming their status despite their different paths. While Godallier and Valenzuela controlled their round of 16 matches,  Bahurel and Varo   had to fight to the very end  to secure their qualification. Both pairs are now at a turning point in the tournament, with a place in the semi-finals in their sights.

 Godallier / Valenzuela, big favorites 

After having been  exempt from first round  thanks to their status of  1 seeded ,  Godallier  (51e)  / Valenzuela  (58th) made a perfect start to their tournament in the round of 16. The two players cruised past the British pair  Jackson  (255e)  / Quirk  (354th), winning  6 / 0 6 / 2 They will meet again in the quarterfinals  seeded 8 ,  Thin  (121e)  / Santos  (113th), in a match largely within their grasp that could open the doors to the  last square .
