The day of  Round of 16 of the FIP Bronze Houten In the Netherlands, the tournament did not go well for the majority of the French players involved. Despite several close matches,  Only one French pair continues in the tournament  :  Dylan Guichard and the Belgian Clément Geens , seeded 1.

Guichard and Geens secure their status

Tournament favorites,  Dylan Guichard and Clément Geens  lived up to expectations. After a solid start against the British  Harris / Loughlan  (6/1 4/6 6/1), the Franco-Belgian pair faced in the round of 16  Johan Peloux and Romain Sichez , drafted in  lucky losers .

In this all-French-speaking duel, Guichard and Geens quickly gained the upper hand to win.  6 / 1 6 / 3 confirming their status as the No. 1 seeds.

En  quarterfinal They will meet up with the Dutch pair again.  Julian Prins / Youp De Kroon , seeded 7th. The match is scheduled  not before 18pm on court 8 .

Bergeron and Fonteny came very close to achieving this feat.

For  Johan Bergeron and Timéo Fonteny The day ended in the round of 16 after a very hard-fought match.

After a solid victory in the first round against the Dutch  Meijer / Roper  (6/4 6/4), the French lost to  Douglas Rutgersson / Diogo Jesus  at the end of a major battle:  7/6 4/6 7/5 .

A  frustrating defeat , as the quarter-final was a real possibility.

Courrin and Seux stopped by the Swedes

Same scenario for  Nathan Courrin and Thomas Seux The French had made a good start to their tournament by winning their first-round match against the Swedes.  Simon Vasquez / Victor Forsberg  (7/6 6/3).

But in the round of 16, they faced another Swedish pair.  Daniel Windahl / Daniel Appelgren which is essential  6 / 4 6 / 2 .

Raichman and Muesser fall to the 3rd seed

On their side,  Philémon Raichman and Yanis Muesser  had staged a great comeback in the first round against the Dutch  Du Pree / Zweers  (6/0 2/6 6/3).

But the challenge was greater in the round of 16 against the  seeded 3 ,  Jaume Romera Barceló / Pau Miñano Ortinez The Spanish used their experience to secure the victory.  7 / 6 6 / 1 .

Guichard, the last Frenchman in the running

At the end of this complicated day,  Dylan Guichard therefore remains the only Frenchman still in contention in the tournament accompanied by Belgian Clément Geens.

The two players will now try to  continue their journey towards the title  facing the Dutch pair  Prins / De Kroon  in the quarter-finals.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
