Four days before the kick-off of the  FIP Bronze Marnes 2026 , scheduled from May 18 to 24 at Forest Hill in Marnes-la-Coquette,  several French pairs  will be there. Among them, pair number 14,  Adrien Maigret and Benjamin Tison  who are respectively 370th and 287th in the FIP rankings before the tournament.

A start to the season  sawtooth

Since the start of the season, Adrien Maigret has played in 3 tournaments. In mid-January, the FIP Silver Caen allowed him to reach the  quarter-finals , tournament where he was partnered with Benjamin Tison. In Caen, the French pair had signed a  nice victory  against Johan Bergeron and Timéo Fonteny after a 1 hour 44 minute battle: 7/6 4/6 6/3. One month later, they finally withdrew from the FIP Silver ESC Padel in Espoo, Finland. Finally, a little over a month ago, another defeat, this time in the round of 1 at the FIP Bronze Rivesaltes against Bastien Blanqué and Yoan Boronad with a score of 6-3 6-3 which left a feeling of unfinished business.

For his part, Benjamin Tison, current coach at My Padel Center is far from his best ranking. In 2023, he reached the highest ranking for a Frenchman at 57th. The only difference in terms of results is his participation in the Brussels P2 tournament. He played with Maxime Joris (221st) where he was eliminated in the second round of qualifying by Marc Sintes Villalonga (86th) and Daniel Santigosa Sastre (61st) with a score of 6-1, 6-4.

A pair capable of reaching the quarterfinals

Their positioning as  pair 14 exposes them  potentially facing stiff competition as early as the round of 16. But in a draw where several French pairs know each other perfectly, the experiment  can quickly become a burden.

Since discovering padel in Andorra almost 10 years ago, it has shaped my life with tournaments, new rackets, and new friends. I love watching pro tournaments and drawing inspiration from them, and if I had to pick a role model, it would be Juan Lebrón. Oh, I have a feeling I'm going to make some friends! ;)
