Perhaps  the match of the week in Marnes-la-Coquette .  Johan Bergeron / Julien Seurin (TS4)  et  Yoan Boronad / Jérémy Robert (TS8)  fought a battle of  2:11 The match ended in a third-set tiebreak. After a nail-biting finish, Bergeron and Seurin emerged victorious.  6/4 4/6 7/6  and secure their place in the semi-finals.

More than two hours of fighting and almost nothing between the two pairs

It was difficult to separate the four French players as this match was so close.  Bergeron / Seurin  take the first set  6/4 before seeing  Boronad / Robert  respond in the second round, which was won by the same score.

The third set confirmed the match's scenario: neither pair managed to gain a decisive advantage, and everything came down to the second set.  tie-breaker .

Even the statistics illustrate this balance. Bergeron/Seurin finish with  65 winning points for 55 unforced errors , against  60 winning points and 45 unforced errors  for Boronad/Robert. Both pairs will also have converted  three break points each The statistics are therefore very balanced.

So the difference had to be made elsewhere: in the key moments.

Seurin closes out a nail-biting tie-break

The decisive tie-break mirrored the previous two hours. Neither player gave an inch, and they had to go all the way.  10-8  to find out who the winners are.

It is finally  Julien Seurin The Frenchman, who played a superb match, sealed the victory with a smash. He displayed great consistency and excellent ball quality throughout the game.

6/4 4/6 7/6 Bergeron and Seurin lived up to expectations, but they had to fight hard to secure their qualification against Boronad and Robert, who leave Marnes after a very high-level performance. It's worth remembering that both pairs were competing for a Wild Card at the Paris Major, which adds even more intrigue to the match.

Fonteny / Moragues win two tie-breaks

In the semi-final, Bergeron/Seurin will meet  Timéo Fonteny / Nacho Moragues (TS2) .

They too had to fight against  Antonio Luque / Diogo Jesus (TS7) Two extremely hard-fought sets, two tie-breaks, but each time the last word went to Fonteny and Moragues:  7 / 6 7 / 6 .

Another great victory for  Timeo Fonteny , who confirms his good week in Marnes and will now have the right to a duel against two of his compatriots for a place in the final.

Wagner / Piombo and Courrin / Seux leave Marnes with their heads held high

The other two surprise pairs in these quarter-finals did not manage to extend their adventure, but they still posed serious problems for the seeded teams.

After their victory against Raichman / Couacaud,  Simon Wagner / Tristan Piombo  they pushed  Marcel Font / Alejandro Garcia Calahorro (TS6)  in three sets. The French even took the first set before the Spanish turned the match around:  6/7 6/4 6/3 .

Same scenario for  Nathan Courrin / Thomas Seux who had already eliminated the TS5 Rico/Forastello and then Vanbauce/Nicocia. Facing the tournament's number 1 seeds,  Julian Prins / Youp De Kroon They won a very close first set before suffering a reaction from the favorites:  5/7 6/2 6/2 .

Men's semi-finals

So, there will be two posters:

  •  Julian Prins / Youp De Kroon (TS1) vs Marcel Font / Alejandro Garcia Calahorro (TS6)
  •  Johan Bergeron / Julien Seurin (TS4) vs Nacho Moragues / Timéo Fonteny (TS2)

The logic of seeding finally reasserts itself in the semi-finals, but it took  huge battles  to achieve this.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
