Le  FIP Bronze Marnes  returns from  September 1st to 5th at Forest Hill , for the second edition organized this season. Behind the main favorite pairs, one association in particular attracts attention:  José Rico / Juan Cruz Forastello .

Seed 5 The Spanish-Argentine pair has several arguments to shake up the hierarchy. They have played together since the beginning of the season and have already won a  FIP Bronze  and above all, she has already beaten several players she could face again in Marnes.

José Rico far from his best ranking

155th in the world ,  José Rico  is currently very far from his best ranking. The Spaniard has, however, reached the very highest level, even attaining the  26th place in the world  at the peak of his career.

This season, he is trying to regain momentum alongside the young Argentinian.  Juan Cruz Forastello , only  20 years who continues his learning on the international circuit.

Both players have primarily built their season on the  CUPRA FIP Tour , with a regular presence at the FIP Bronze level. And the results speak for themselves:  Several semi-finals, several finals, and already a title .

A first title with several big moves

It was in May that Rico / Forastello won their first trophy together.

A tournament during which they notably crossed paths with French players. In the semi-finals, they eliminated  Julien Seurin / Antonio Luque  before putting on a great performance in the final against the French number one  Dylan Guichard , associated with the Italian  Frame Cassetta .

A victory that truly launched their season.

Since then, Rico and Forastello have continued their winning streak.  finals and semi-finals , without managing to find their way back to the title. They were also able to test themselves at a higher level by entering the main draw thanks to a wild card.  Valence P1 .

A particularly interesting experience for Forastello, still in the discovery phase of the very highest international level.

Very strong competition in Marnes

However, the task ahead looks complicated in Marnes-la-Coquette. Several pairs have strong arguments in their favor to win the trophy.

Among other things, we will find  Johan Bergeron / Julien Seurin , But also  Thomas Leygue / Jesús Moya who arrive with a lot of confidence after their final at the FIP Bronze in Madrid and victories against players in the world's top 100.

Timeo Fonteny , the French number 2, will be associated with  Nacho Moragues while the Dutch  Julian Prins / Youp de Kroon  will also be among the pairs to watch.

In this hierarchy, Rico/Forastello come right behind with their status of  TS5 , but their shared experience and results this season make them much more than just a pair to watch.

A clearly targeted tournament

Another interesting point:  Rico and Forastello are not registered for the Paris Major the following week .

The FIP Bronze Marnes is therefore a real objective on their calendar. It's not just a warm-up for Paris: after several top finishes in recent months, they will certainly have the ambition to...  rediscovering the taste of the title .

With a  José Rico, who still possesses the experience of a former world number 26  And with Juan Cruz Forastello gradually gaining confidence on the international circuit, the 5th seed has the weapons to go far.

The top four seeds will start ahead on paper, but in Marnes,  Rico and Forastello will clearly be among the serious contenders for the title. .

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
