As the 2026 French Championships begin in Agen, several French athletes have opted for international competition this week with the FIP Bronze in Tunis. Nathan Perrot, Enzo Couacaud, Théo Bergamaschi, Camille Couffignal, and Benjamin Dufour will be competing this Friday under the Tunisian sun, with several promising opening rounds and even the possibility of an all-French duel as early as the round of 16.
Couacaud faces the 5th seed
Enzo Couacaud (737th), associated with the Tunisian Aziz Helali (1079th), will not have the easiest first round. The Franco-Tunisian pair will face the 5th seed, composed of the Italian Frame Cassetta (93th) and the Argentinian Fabian Oviedo (191e).
A big test of entry for Couacaud / Helali, who will have to create one of the surprises of these round of 32 to continue their journey.
First association for Nathan Perrot
One pair will be particularly interesting to follow: Nathan Perrot (552e) / Gerard Gimeno (470e).
The Frenchman will team up with the Spaniard for the first time and will start against the Italians. Lorenzo Chionna (359e) / Edoard Galbusera (822e).
A first round that could allow this new association to find its feet. In an interesting part of the draw, Perrot will have the opportunity to achieve a first strong performance on the international circuit .
Bergamaschi and Couacaud could find themselves
Théo Bergamaschi (1226th) will play alongside the Belgian Hamza Berrahou (459th). They will be up against Daniel Pashayan ( 1226th) / Daniil Bobokhanov (1424th) for their entry into the table.
And their journey could quickly take a particular turn: in the event of a victory Bergamaschi / Berrahou and Couacaud / Helali The two Frenchmen could meet again from the round of 16 onwards .
They still have to overcome the first obstacle, which is particularly challenging for Couacaud and Helali against the 5th seed.
Couffignal was brought back into the draw
Also present, Camille Couffignal (1565th) will evolve with Rayan Ouabed (1226th). The pair entered the main draw as lucky loser and will face Xander Aue ( 985th) / Amine Ben Jemia (1178e).
A new opportunity for Couffignal and Ouabed after the qualifiers, with now the possibility of taking full advantage of this repechage.
Dufour facing an Argentinian pair
Finally Benjamin Dufour (512th) will be partnered with the Romanian Horia Nedelcu (537e).
For their round of 32 match, they will face two Argentinians: Juan Ignacio Galvani ( 527th) Sebastian Guzman (1178e).
Despite the French Championships in Agen, there will also be several French people to watch in Tunis , with different profiles but the same ambition: to take advantage of this FIP Bronze to gain experience and go and collect points on the international circuit.
