La  weekly update of the FIP ranking  confirms the positive momentum of French padel at the start of this season. Several French players are progressing, with the leaders leading the way.  Dylan Guichard , author of a remarkable rise after his title at  FIP Bronze Wood .

Dylan Guichard is getting closer to the world's top 100

It is  the biggest gain of the week on the French side Dylan Guichard wins  six seats  in the rankings and now climbs to the  108th place in the world .

A logical step forward after his  victory at the FIP Bronze Houten , won alongside the Belgian  Clement Geens which allowed him to amass  40 FIP points  additional.

Thanks to this performance, Guichard:

  •  largely confirms his status as French number 1 ,
  •  is getting closer to the world's top 100 ,
  • and currently occupies the  51st place in the FIP Race , a very promising position for the rest of the season.

This momentum confirms the Frenchman's thunderous start to the year on the international circuit.

Contrasting movements behind

Behind Guichard, the developments are more contrasting.

Johan Bergeron  et  Bastien Blanqué  they both retreat from  five seats  this week. Bergeron was notably eliminated in  FIP Bronze Houten Round of 16 which explains this slight decline.

For its part,  Thomas Leygue  He continues to gain ground. He wins.  two places  and now finds himself  147th in the world , thanks in particular to the points collected during the  FIP Gold Ponta Delgada .

Several other movements are also worth noting:

  •  Julien Seurin  perd  two places
  •  Timeo Fonteny  wins  a position
  •  Maxime Joris  realizes  a big jump of ten places  after qualifying for the main draw of the FIP Gold Ponta Delgada, having lost 52 places last week
  •  Arthur Hugounenq  He wins too  ten places  thanks to his qualification in the final draw of the FIP Gold Ponta Delgada and now joins the  french top 10
  •  Philemon Raichman  progresses by  seven seats
  •  Nicolas Rouanet  backs off  five positions

Overall, the momentum remains positive with several French players continuing to rack up points on the  FIP Tour .

French women are also on the rise

For women too, the news is generally positive.

Alix Collombon  regains a favorable dynamic with  two places gained which now places her  33th in the world This progress is linked in particular to its  Round of 16 at Gijón P2 .

Just behind,  Léa Godallier  wins  a square  and confirms his consistency on the international circuit.

Carla Toully  also progresses with  a place gained .

Other French women are also achieving a great result:

  •  Camille Sireix  wins  three seater
  •  Melissa Martin  progresses by  two places

Conversely, some setbacks should be noted:

  •  Steffi Merah  perd  three seater
  •  Lucile Pothier  retreats by a square
  •  Charlotte Soubrié  perd  five positions , particularly due to a more limited presence on the international circuit.

Finally  Laura Buteau  wins  two places  in the ranking.

An encouraging dynamic for the rest of the season

Overall,  The overall assessment remains very positive for French padel. Several players continue to perform well on the  FIP Tour which translates into steady progress in the world rankings.

La  upcoming American tour , Including  Cancun and Miami This could further confirm this trend and allow many French people to  continue their rise in the FIP rankings .

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
