The registrations of  FIP Platinum Lyon  are now over and the conclusion is simple: the competition will be very tough. Several players accustomed to the final rounds of Premier Padel will be present, many new associations will make their debut and the French will be particularly numerous.

And one last entry completely disrupted the hierarchy:  Franco Stupaczuk / Jon Sanz  will be there. The pair, usually seeded 4th out Premier Padellogically regains the status of  top seed in Lyon .

Stupaczuk / Sanz, the big attraction

This is clearly one of the major announcements of this registration deadline.

Franco Stupaczuk, 8th in the world, and Jon Sanz, 11th and largely take first place in the list of pairs.

A pair accustomed to the semi-finals and finals on Premier Padelwhich will inevitably arrive with one objective:  win the title .

Behind them, the level remains very high.  Fran Guerrero / Javi Leal  move to the top of series 2, ahead  Martín Di Nenno / Juan Tello who are exceptionally reforming their association for the Lyon tournament.

Momo González / Lucas Campagnolo  complete the top 4.

Several new pairs in the top 8

The tournament will also be an opportunity to discover several associations that have emerged from recent developments on the circuit.

En  seeded 5 ,  Jairo Bautista / Lucas Bergamini  will launch their new project. The two players have decided to team up for the end of this season and will enter directly among the top pairs in the tournament.

En  TS6 , we will find  Javi Garrido / Carlos Daniel Gutiérrez , another new association to watch closely.

La  TS7 Edu Alonso / Aimar Goñi  They arrive with a lot of confidence. The two Spaniards are currently having a great Paris Major and have notably eliminated  Mike Yanguas / Coki Nieto  to reach the quarter-finals.

Finally  Íñigo Jofre / Juanlu Esbrí  will form the 8th seed and will also launch a new association for the end of this season.

Rubini / Chozas, Castaño / Hernández, Goenaga / Collado…

And the changes don't stop at the top 8.

Among other things, we will find  Juan Ignacio Rubini / Alex Chozas , but also the  Manu Castaño / Pol Hernández  et  Enrique Goenaga / Guillermo Collado , three projects that emerged after the recent splits on the circuit.

Other solid pairs complete this entry list:  Flavio Abbate / Alonso Rodriguez ,  Francisco Cabeza / Javi Ruiz ,  Emilio Sánchez Chamero / Pablo García ,  Victor Ruiz / Marcos González , or  Diego Garcia / Aris Patiniotis .

In other words, even outside of the top eight seeds, the draw will remain particularly competitive.

Guichard with Axelsson, Fonteny meets up with Moragues

The French will also be very numerous.

The first pair featuring a Frenchman appears in  22th position , with  Dylan Guichard / Adam Axelsson The French number 1, currently 85th in the world, will exceptionally team up with the Swede, 115th.

Right behind, we will find  Timéo Fonteny / Nacho Moragues , who are coming off a very good Paris Major with a victory in the first round followed by a big match against Jiménez / Arroyo.

Another pair that is sure to be highly anticipated:  Thomas Leygue / Jesús Moya After their exceptional run at Roland-Garros, where they started in qualifying before reaching the round of 16, the two men will continue their partnership in Lyon.

Many French fans will be behind the scenes, including...  Johan Bergeron / Julien Seurin ,  Yoan Boronad / Jérémy Robert ,  Maxime Joris / Bastien Blanqué ,  Olivier Guy de Chamisso / Manuel Vives ,  Yanis Muesser / Arthur Hugounenq , or  Thomas Vanbauce / Lucas Miranda Santos .

We will also find  Thomas Seux / Nathan Courrin ,  Philémon Raichman / Tristan Piombo ,  Nathan Perrot / Sacha Huard de La Marre ,  Clément Filho / Jules Marie  and several other French pairs likely to go through the qualifying rounds.

Salazar/Osoro take the lead in the women's standings

The women's draw has also become much more competitive in the last few hours.

Alejandra Salazar / Aranza Osoro  They take first place on the list of pairs. A top-tier pair who will naturally be among the tournament's favorites.

Behind this, we find a particularly interesting association with  Alejandra Alonso / Giulia Dal Pozzo , seeded 2, they are joining forces exceptionally for this tournament.

La  TS3 Bea Caldera / Carmen Goenaga  will also be something to watch, while  Lorena Rufo / Jessica Castelló  they reformed their pair for the tournament and occupy fourth position.

The top 8 is completed by  Lucía Sainz / Letizia Manquillo ,  Agueda Pérez Ortiz / Martina Fassio ,  Alix Collombon / Ksenia Sharifova  et  Lara Arruabarrena / Giorgia Marchetti .

Collombon/Sharifova TS7, Godallier/Valenzuela just behind

The French women will therefore also have some good cards to play.

Alix Collombon / Ksenia Sharifova  will  seeded 7 , with a real possibility of achieving a big result at home.

Just behind the first eight pairs,  Léa Godallier / Daiara Valenzuela  occupy the ninth position.

Further,  Louise Bahurel / Ivet Val López  appear in 17th position.

The French contingent will also be supplemented by  Lou Lambert Agosti / Kimy Barla ,  Steffi Merah / Charlotte Soubrié ,  Marie-Amélie Dardaine / Clara Mansart ,  Cassandra Senjean / Manon Marcarie  or,  Lucile Pothier / Fitia Robinson Andrianafetra .

A FIP Platinum that's taking on the appearance of Premier Padel

With  Stupaczuk / Sanz, Guerrero / Leal, Di Nenno / Tello, Momo / Campagnolo but also all the new pairs who will take advantage of Lyon to launch their project, the men's scene clearly takes on a new dimension.

The same observation applies to women with  Salazar / Osoro , Alonso / Dal Pozzo, Caldera / Goenaga, Rufo / Castelló and several well-placed French women.

Registration is now closed. And with ten days to go before the start of the tournament, one thing is certain:  FIP Platinum Lyon has rarely boasted such a strong lineup. .

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
