The French did not find success this Friday in the various tournaments of the  FIP Tour Between eliminations, withdrawals, and poor performances, the overall result is disappointing. Only  Yanis Muesser / Arthur Hugounenq ,  Marie-Amélie Dardaine / Clara Mansart ,  Laura Buteau  et  Melissa Martin  managed to secure their place in the round of 16.

Only one victory for the men in Dublin

Au  FIP Silver Dublin The French team suffered.

The good news came from  Yanis Muesser  et  Arthur Hugounenq , winners of  Kilian Jordan / Florian Valsot  in two sets ( 7 / 6 6 / 1 ). After a close first set, the French team largely took control to secure their qualification.

This victory could open up exciting possibilities for them. In the round of 16, they will face the Italians.  Matteo Rosingana  et  Simone Vaccari , qualified after the withdrawal of the 1st seed. A draw that has opened up considerably and a great opportunity for the French to reach a quarter-final.

On the other hand, the day was much more complicated for the other French players.  Thomas Seux / Nathan Courrin  were defeated by the 4th seed  Roberto Belmont Pastor / Guillem Figuerola Santiago  ( 6 / 4 6 / 4 ), while  Benjamin Dufour / Rafael Marquet  could do nothing against the number 2 seed  Antonio Fernandez / Pedro Melendez Amaya  ( 6 / 2 6 / 0 ).

Same observation for  Thomas Basso / Julien Biron , soundly beaten by the 7th seed  Pepe Aliaga / Adrian Ronco Lopez  ( 6 / 0 6 / 3 ).

Finally  Pierre Perez Le Tiec / Guillaume Le Drap  were not even able to defend their chances, forced to withdraw before entering the competition.

Bad luck also struck the women.  Camille Sireix  et  Tess De Vocht  had to forgo their first round due to a cancelled flight. Meanwhile, the match of  Steffi Merah  and the Italian woman  Matilde Minelli  has not yet been contested.

Blanqué and Joris held up at Dronten

Le  FIP Bronze Dronten  It didn't smile on the French either.

Expected to be among the outsiders,  Bastien Blanqué  et  Maxime Joris , seeded 8th, were eliminated in their first match by the Dutch  Bram Meijer / Menno Nolten  ( 6 / 4 6 / 2 ).

Another disappointment for this association, which is still struggling to find its rhythm despite being favorites on paper.

The good news came from the women's draw.  Marie-Amelie Dardaine  et  Clara Mansart  got their tournament off to a perfect start by dominating the Germans  Lena Pluemer / Katharina Hering  ( 6 / 1 7 / 6 They will now face the number 4 seed,  Giulia Sussarello / Ivet Val Lopez , for a place in the quarter-finals.

 A French derby in Spain

Au  FIP Bronze La Coruña French women have been more successful.

Associated with the Danish  Julia Isabella Wiese ,  Laura Buteau  imposed itself against  Carla Rodriguez Sanchez / Andrea Colinas Castro  ( 7 / 5 6 / 4 ).

For its part,  Melissa Martin , seeded 8 with  Fitia Robinson Andrianafetra had to work hard to overcome Elena Herrera Segura / Carla Aguila Tello  ( 6/4 4/6 6/4 ).

The two Frenchwomen will now meet in the round of 16 for a  an almost entirely French duel guaranteeing at least one French representative in the quarter-finals.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
