The very first edition of the International tournament Padel from French Polynesia, Called American Express Padel Pacific Cup, marks an important step for the development of this sport in the region.

This project was born out of a collaboration between the Club Phoenix and AECP (European Association of Clubs of Padel). The idea emerged during the visit of the president of the AECP, Claude Baigts, in March 2024 at the invitation ofAlain Siu, president of the Phoenix Club. It came to fruition in the autumn, in Malaga, during the International Club Cup Padel, which brought together a delegation of 46 representatives of Club Phénix: managers, players and partners.

The American Express Padel Pacific Cup arrives in Tahiti

This first edition was able to be set up quickly thanks to the commitment of Tahiti's padel clubs. Their active participation in the qualifying phases made it possible to bring together more than 20 local pairs, all licensed with the Tahitian Tennis Federation.

But this tournament goes beyond the borders of Polynesia. Thanks to the support of theAECP, Club Phoenix and the trust of the title partner American Express, the event also welcomes players fromArgentina,Spain, France, Portugal, Salvador,Haiti and Sweden.

All participants were selected not only for their sporting skills, but also for their commitment as educators and for the values they convey on and off the field.

The organizers and partners will pay particular attention to all aspects of the event: sporting performances, logistical organization, welcoming delegations, as well as the awards ceremony.

The stated objective is clear: lay the foundations for a second edition in 2026, with the renewed support ofAmerican Express Pacific and collaboration between Phoenix and AECP, to continue to structure and promote padel in the Pacific region.
