Premier Padel continues to adjust its circuit taking into account feedback from players and governing bodies. Following recent meetings of the Classification Committee, several decisions have been taken regarding the female and male paintings, endowments, as well as the management of a “illegal boycott” according to the circuit. Here are the different points led by Premier Padel.
Maintaining women's formats and increasing funding
After consultation with theInternational Padel Players Association (IPPA), it was decided to maintain the formats of women's tables as approved for 2025. The IPPA confirmed that these sporting changes contribute to the positive evolution of the circuit. Furthermore, The prize money for the women's P2 tournaments will be increased by €10 per event, an effective measure now to support the players. Finally, theIPPA to cover hotel costs of players in qualifying phase, from the Santiago P1, until the end of the 2025 season.
Return to men's formats from 2024 and legal action against boycott
Regarding the men's tables, despite the organization of a meeting to listen to the Professional players feedback Padel Association (PPA), the association has not expressed any preference on the formats of the tables. However, in the face of numerous public criticisms from players regarding the size of the 2025 tables, Premier Padel and the International Federation of Padel (FIP) have decided to return to the 2024 formats for P1 and P2, starting with Santiago P1.
At the same time, Premier Padel will take legal action against players involved in the illegal boycott of some tournaments. This movement has caused financial and image damages to the circuit, organizers and broadcasters. Premier Padel also seized the FIP to engage immediate disciplinary sanctions against players in breach of their contractual commitments.
Support for Mexico and upcoming projects
Premier Padel expressed his gratitude to theP2 Cancun Team, which managed to maintain the organization of the tournament despite difficult conditions. At the same time, the organization announced a financial support for reconstruction in Mexico, after the passage of a devastating hurricane having touched theAcapulco Major in 2024.
two major steps of the circuit are expected in the coming weeks:
- Miami P1 (March 17-23), the first tournament of Premier Padel in the USA,
- Santiago P1 (March 24-30), a new key step for the expansion of the circuit.
These developments are part of the development strategy for professional padel on a global scale and in theOlympic goal supported by the FIP.
