Tennis Europe today announced the winners of the European Tennis Trophy, which annually rewards the performance of players as well as those of teams from the association's 50 member nations. France won the 2019 trophy for the “best overall performance” but also that of the “professional tennis” category.

For the fourth year in a row, France has won the trophy for “best overall performance”, making it the most successful nation since 1991 with eight awards. This title, the most prestigious of the European Tennis Trophy, takes into account the results obtained on the professional, junior and senior circuits as well as in wheelchair tennis.

France also won the “Professional Tennis” trophy for the fourth year in a row, ahead of Spain and Russia. In the other three categories of this list, France is also very well placed. It thus occupies the 3e position in the "junior tennis" and "wheelchair tennis" categories and earns a place in the "senior tennis" category, allowing it to reach the 4e position.

« It is an additional honor to receive this award from Tennis Europe. It highlights both our desire to train our young elite internationally and the quality of the work provided by all educators in clubs, leagues and the French Tennis Federation. It must also be shared with families without whom there is no high-level course "Says Bernard Giudicelli, President of the French Tennis Federation.
