We have seen a lot of team changes lately on the World Padel Tour, what about in France? Let's try to clarify this !

For the moment, we do not know when will be able to resume the tournaments of padel in France but we hope that we will have the French Championships in 2021! The players in any case seem to be preparing for it with already announcements of separations, like the one between Bastien Blanqué and Johan Bergeron, as well as the one between Benjamin Tison and Jérémy Scatena.

Let's see what associations we could have among the members of the extended France group

A Bergeron / Tison association ?

For now, the two players have just communicated on their separation with their respective partners, and they are the only ones to have done so. Moreover, they have played the last two FIP tournaments together, and had obtained the Wild Card for the FIP Finals, which they did not unfortunately could not participate.

In any case, in view of the good results they had together, we say to ourselves that an association on the French circuit between the two best right-wing players in France seems quite likely. In any case, this would complicate the task of left-wing players, who will obviously have one less choice in terms of partners ...

Maigret / Haziza again?

Engaged together for 2020, Adrien Maigret and Robin Haziza have finally played only two tournaments together, one unquestionable victory at the P1000 de Vence,  and a loss in the eighth at P2000 des Pyramides, against Britos / Inzerillo.

Logic would want them to continue in 2021, but we can also think that Adrien wants to make the season with a player with whom he can play in the national team (Haziza being the ladies' coach, he can no longer be a player of the team of France). In this case, one could imagine the vice-champion of France with Jérôme Inzerillo who seems to want to invest in the competition and whose results speak for him, or with another Parisian, Yann Auradou.

Will Scatena continue in France?

During its interview a little less than a month ago, the first French on the WPT had been a little unclear about his future. Not sure to continue on World Padel Tour, he raised the fact that if Tison and Bergeron joined forces in France, he would be difficult for the best players on the left to find partners allowing them to be competitive.

If the Tison / Bergeron association is confirmed, Blanqué and Scatena would clearly be the big losers from this change. They could of course team up but not sure whether one of them wants to play on the right. A good option for Scat would be Max Moreau, with whom he beat Blanqué / Bergeron a few years ago, but will Max agree to switch to the right?

Blanked with Trancart?

In this context, the best option for the champion of France could be Nicolas Trancart. The two players are friends, and Trancart, who has spent the year training in Spain, is among the best players on the right in France after Tison and Bergeron. An association with a Toulouse accent that could work very well!

What about Thomas Leygue?

If a Trancart / Blanqué pair formed, Thomas Leygue would find himself without a partner. This very promising player is certainly the future of the France team. Able to play on both sides but of course with a preference and perfect qualities for the left side, will he accept to pass to the right with a Scatena for example, to maximize his chances of selection?

Several pairs carried over?

Interviewed in October, Justin Lopes seemed to indicate that he would continue with François Authier next season. Two players who know each other by heart, and who have proven that they are capable of annoying the very best!

Loïc Le Panse and Simon Boissé, who have been playing together for a little while already seem to have left to continue their association. We also imagine that Jérémy Ritz and Jean-Michel Pequery will continue too. Young Lilian Fouré and Jérémy Garcia, who were in the semi-finals at the Pyramids, should also continue.

Then it's a little more vague, Max Moreau, already mentioned, will he continue with Jean-Thomas Peyrou? Can we have an association between the Parisians Auradou and Inzerillo if Maigret continues with Haziza?

Many questions to which we currently have no answer, it's up to you to make your predictions !
