The French Championships +45 years 2026 , organized at EARTH Padel The results were delivered this Sunday. In the women's draw, the expected outcome prevailed with a victory for the number 1 seed. In the men's draw, however, the brothers Steven and John Martel have achieved a superb run to claim the title after taking advantage of a draw completely reshaped by the fall of the favorites.
Pecastaing and Verdier hold their own.
In the women's competition, the top two seeds lived up to expectations throughout the weekend to meet in the final.
The seed 1, Amélie Detrivière / Catherine Lalanne , had qualified for the final after a controlled semi-final against Alexandra Yandian / Aurélie Voisin .
On the other side of the bracket, the number 2 seed, Julie Pecastaing / Céline Verdier had to fight hard to overcome Peggy Maignien / Magali Camps .
The final ultimately went in favor of Detriviere and Lalanne who prevailed after a hard-fought match 6 / 1 7 / 6 After dominating the first set, they resisted the comeback of Pecastaing and Verdier in a much more contested second set to finish in a tie-break and clinch the national title.

The Martel brothers are taking advantage of an open game
For the men, the scenario was quite different.
The seed 2, Frédéric Loriedo / Christophe Henry , fell in the semi-finals against Sébastien Preauchat / Nicolas Kischkewitz , fully opening the upper part of the painting.
In the lower section, the number 1 seed (Datcharry/Coirault) fell, and it was the brothers Steven and John Martel who seized their opportunity perfectly. After several convincing victories, they eliminated in the semi-finals Jean-François Planchais / Vincent Kubler to reach the final.
Facing them, Preauchat and Kischkewitz arrived buoyed by their big match against Frédéric Loriedo / Christophe Henry But the Martel brothers continued their magnificent run, winning the final with a score of 6 / 3 6 / 1 .
A clear victory that rewards a perfectly executed weekend and allows them to clinch the title of French champions +45 years 2026 .

A weekend full of surprises
While the hierarchy was respected in the women's draw, the men's draw offered several surprises, starting with the elimination of the number 1 seed before the final.
The Martel brothers were able to take advantage of this opportunity with authority to win the most beautiful title of their season and add their name to the list of winners of the French +45 Championships.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
