2 hours and 39 minutes of battle, three match points saved and a finish in the super tie-break.  The round of 16 between  Jules Marie / Jérôme Inzerillo  et  Damien Lozano / Isaac Huysveld  offered one of the biggest match scenarios of the start of the French Padel Championships. (7/6 6/7 12/10)

After an extremely close match,  Marie and Inzerillo finally secured their qualification , after coming very close to elimination.

A match that could have gone either way.

It's hard to imagine a more unpredictable match. The two pairs traded blows throughout.  2:39 , with very little difference in the game and a tension that kept rising.

Interviewed immediately after the match by  Mario Cordero Jules Marie was still struggling to fully explain what had just happened.

"Honestly, during the match, I thought to myself: even if you lose this match, you're still happy, because it was a fun match. I enjoyed it."

One sentence that perfectly sums up the nature of this encounter:  a huge fight but also a lot of fun on the track.

Three match points saved

Everything ultimately came down to the  super tie-break decisive .

And once again, Marie/Inzerillo had to hang on until the very end. According to information given to Jules Marie as he left the track, the pair had saved  three match balls  before managing to turn the situation around.

"Apparently, three match points. People were following the match, it was crazy."

A scenario that kept the many spectators watching the match on the edge of their seats and which allows  Jules Marie and Jérôme Inzerillo will continue their adventure in these French Championships .

Jules Marie: "My current standard level"

Despite the length of the match and the intensity of some exchanges, Jules Marie did not consider that he had delivered his best individual performance.

"I felt OK. I didn't excel, I didn't play badly. I was OK. My standard level right now."

Physically, the Frenchman also wanted to reassure everyone immediately after the match: "I'm very good. There were some long points, but it's okay."

It remains to be seen, of course, how the organisms will react after  2 hours and 39 minutes spent on the track , with another match to play just a few hours after this marathon.

Not much time to recover

Qualification is secured, but the day is far from over for  Marie / Inzerillo .

The two men needed to recover quickly before their next appointment. Jules Marie took it in good humor, hoping that the meetings scheduled before theirs would last long enough to offer them a few precious extra minutes of rest.

After  2h39 of battle Having saved three match points and secured qualification in a nail-biting finish, every minute of recovery could count.

One thing is certain :  Marie / Inzerillo have already just played one of the standout matches of these French Championships.
