They were still said to be behind  Coello and Tapia  few months ago.
Today, the reality is quite different.

By winning the  Asunción P2  facing the world's number 1 teams with a score of  6 / 3 7 / 5 ,  Ale Galán and Fede Chingotto  confirm that they are perhaps the most solid pair at the moment in major matches.

And above all, they send a very clear message:
They are no longer afraid of the “Golden Boys”.

Chingotto was monstrous, MVP of the final

If one name had to be singled out from this final, it would clearly be that of  Fede Chingotto .

Already excellent throughout the week, the Argentinian delivered a true tactical and mental masterclass in this final.

Consistent pressure on the fly, impressive feedback quality, monstrous ground coverage…
The little Argentinian stifled Coello and Tapia in the important moments.

While the world number 1s arrived with confidence after steamrolling their opponents since the start of the tournament, Chingotto completely disrupted their rhythm.

And in the key moments, he was unplayable.

A perfect start to the match

The match starts very strongly for Jorge Martinez's players.

Highlight:
Coello and Tapia had never lost their serve in the tournament before. .

And from the very first game, Galán and Chingotto broke this statistic.

An immediate declaration of intent.

Very aggressive at the net and extremely solid on the return, the world number 2 players are imposing their rhythm.

Coello and Tapia react immediately with a break back, but Galán and Chingotto quickly regain the advantage in the fifth game.

This time, they won't give up.

The first set logically falls into their hands:
 6/3 .

The number ones had their chances… but didn't take them.

The second set is much closer.

Coello and Tapia are clearly improving and regaining better form.

But when it comes to concluding the important points, they hit a wall.

Number 1s get no less than  four break points … all saved by Galán and Chingotto.

Conversely, the number 2s continue to be ultra-realistic.

Only one major opening?
Immediate break.

As has often been the case for several weeks, Galán and Chingotto were much stronger mentally in the tense moments.

À  6 / 3 6 / 5 Chingotto pulls off two more huge points to conclude this final and give the title to his team.

The balance of power is changing

This victory goes far beyond a simple trophy.

For a long time, Galán and Chingotto seemed destined to remain behind Coello and Tapia despite their enormous level of play.

But for several months now, the dynamic has completely reversed.

With this new victory, they now lead  3-1 in head-to-head matches this season  against the world number 1s.

And above all, they give the impression of having become the most solid pair in the big moments.

Whereas in 2025 they often dominated before cracking on Sunday, this 2026 version now wins through suffering, with a great deal of maturity.

 Coello and Tapia are worried.

Conversely, doubt is slowly starting to creep in among the number 1s.

Despite being impressive since the start of the tournament with demonstrations in the quarter-finals and semi-finals, they leave Paraguay with a third consecutive defeat in the final.

A scenario that has become rare for a pair that seemed untouchable just a few months ago.

Chingalán now has his sights set on the throne

With this new title, Galán and Chingotto win their fourth trophy of the season and confirm more than ever their candidacy for the world throne.

The ghosts seem to have changed sides.

And today, they are the ones who have taken the lead in the new classic of world padel.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
