Ale Galán continues to make history. By qualifying for another final at the Bordeaux P2, the Spaniard became only the fourth player in history to reach the symbolic milestone of 100 finals on the professional circuit. This achievement confirms his status among the greats, even if one statistic alone sums up the difficulty of his era: nearly half of his finals were against the Coello/Tapia pair. 

Exceptional consistency since 2018

With  100 final contests , Ale Galán joins an extremely closed circle made up of Fernando Belasteguín, Juan Martín Díaz and Pablo Lima.

Since 2018, the Spaniard has not missed  no season without reaching a final , proof of rare consistency at the highest level. His most prolific season remains  2022 , with  21 final contests  et  14 titles won .

Its overall record is now  58 trophies for 42 lost finals , which represents a success rate of 58%.

The statistics also highlight the evolution of Galán's career according to his partners.

Alongside  Juan Lebrón , with whom he dominated the circuit between 2020 and 2024, Galán played  48 endings  to  33 tracks i.e  69% success rate .

Since its association with  Federico Chingotto The finals continue to unfold:  43  already. On the other hand, the yield is different with  18 tracks i.e  42% success rate .

Galán's level of play never seemed to decline. The context, however, has profoundly changed.

Coello and Tapia, the wall of a whole generation

This is probably the most revealing statistic.

On his  100 endings ,  43  were contested against  Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia In other words, almost one out of every two finals has pitted Galán against the pair that has dominated world padel since 2023.

The result is  14 wins for 29 losses i.e  33% success rate .

No other recent rivalry has shaped a player's career to such an extent.

A great figure in history nonetheless?

With 100 finals, Ale Galán confirms that he already belongs to the greatest players in the history of padel.

However, the numbers tell a different story: while he continues to accumulate finals, he regularly faces the Coello/Tapia pair, who have become the benchmark of this generation.

The question therefore remains open:  Would Galán have an even more impressive record without the dominance of the Coello/Tapia pair, or is this rivalry precisely part of the greatness of his career?
