Tensions have risen on the circuit in recent days Premier Padel after  very direct statements from Leo Augsburger  about Alejandro Galán The young Argentinian did not mince his words during an interview with Joaquín Serna.

Comparing Galán to Agustín Tapia, Augsburger had remarked:
"What sets us apart is his experience. Honestly, I don't watch much Galán, I'm not a big fan... it's not a big deal."

These remarks quickly sparked reactions on social media and were naturally brought up at the press conference afterward.  victory of Galán in the semi-final of Gijón Premier Padel P2 .

 A response from Galán 

When questioned about these statements, the Madrid player responded calmly and without fueling the controversy.

"He's a great lad, but I think he's been surrounded by the wrong people for a long time," he explained, referring in particular to the Argentine player's entourage and agent.

Despite the criticism,  Galán was primarily focused on defusing the situation .

 "He's an ambitious player." 

The world number 2 sees these statements more as a form of mental strategy.

"Leo is an ambitious and very competitive player; he likes confrontation. I think that's his way of motivating himself. Nothing more."

A clear message that shows that the Madrid player prefers  let the rivalry take place on the track rather than in the media .

 An outstretched hand to Augsburger 

Galán even concluded on a very calm note, showing a lot of respect for the young Argentine talent.

"I don't take it badly. We've known each other for a long time and I wish him all the best. He's going to be a great player. Who knows, maybe one day I'll have to call him up to play with me."

An elegant way to  to end the controversy while reminding everyone that respect remains an important value on the professional circuit.
