Javi Garrido and Lucas Bergamini will not continue their partnership. The Spaniard officially announced their split after their elimination from the Paris Major 2026. This decision comes at a difficult time for the ninth seed, despite several impressive performances this season and their first title together in June.

Paris, last tournament for Garrido and Bergamini

The adventure of  Javi Garrido and Lucas Bergamini  stops at Roland-Garros.

Both players were eliminated in their first match at the  Paris Major , beaten in the round of 32 by  Javier Martinez and Luis Hernandez .

A few hours later, Garrido confirmed that this meeting was their last as partners.

"We are leaving Paris earlier than we would have liked... and with this tournament, we are ending our adventure as a pair," the Spaniard announced.

In his message, he also took the opportunity to thank his partner:

"Berguita, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the efforts you've made throughout this year. It's a shame we weren't able to enjoy ourselves and play competitively like we did every day. I always wish you the best."

Results that were no longer keeping up

Garrido doesn't give specific reasons for the split. His message, however, reveals a certain frustration:  Work and everyday sensations no longer seemed to translate sufficiently into competition. .

The latest results support this view.

One week before Paris,  Garrido/Bergamini had already been eliminated in their first match at Madrid P1 , beaten 6/3 7/6 by  Gonza Alfonso and Tino Libaak A poor performance on paper for the 9th seed, even though the Argentinians then confirmed their level by eliminating Juan Lebrón / Leo Augsburger before reaching the semi-finals.

In London, just before the summer break, Garrido and Bergamini had also left the tournament in the round of 32.

The dynamic contrasted with the ambitions of a pair regularly established among the top seeds.

Rome and Abidjan among the highlights

However, not everything was negative in their partnership.

Garrido and Bergamini, in particular, reached the  quarter-finals of the Italy Major in Rome , one of their best results on Premier Padel this season.

They had especially succeeded in realizing their work a few weeks later by winning the  FIP Gold of Abidjan A first title together, won after a particularly hard-fought final against  Juan Tello / Maxi Arce , won  6/3 3/6 7/6 .

This success came after two lost finals together on the FIP Tour, at  FIP Platinum of Marseille  and  Dubai FIP Silver .

In Abidjan, Garrido had in fact injured his ankle during the final before continuing the match, then publicly emphasizing the importance of Bergamini's support in winning the title.

"I will rediscover the joy of racing on the track."

Two months later, Garrido's speech is different.

"I will rediscover the joy on the track by showing all the daily work that goes into it," he concluded in his message.

A revealing statement about the Spaniard's current state of mind, without it being possible to go any further on the causes of the separation.  No conflict between the two players has been mentioned. Garrido, on the contrary, sent a particularly warm message to his now former partner.

The separation therefore appears primarily as the consequence of a  sporting dynamics that no longer met expectations , with early eliminations becoming too frequent in recent weeks.

After  Madrid then Paris The Garrido/Bergamini partnership is coming to an end.

It now remains to be seen who their future partners will be for the remainder of the 2026 season.
